<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/satwa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/satwa.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I strongly believe that Filipinos can be found in any part of the world to work and earn a living even in the most dangerous places; Filipinos would risk their lives just to be able to support their families back in the Philippines. Here in the UAE, Filipinos have also become very dominant. There's a big percentage of overseas Filipino workers here and there's this specific place in Dubai where these co-Filipinos are settling in, this place is Satwa which is now called the manila in Dubai. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">On my way to Dubai, a friend of mine told me that I wouldn't feel that homesick at all because anywhere I go, I can see Filipinos and in every mall and establishments, our kabayans will always be present. By the time I stepped out of the Emirates plane and went to the immigration section, I saw Filipinos working there. Reaching to the villa where my brother is staying, almost all the residents there are Filipinos.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Then I went to different interviews, 90 percent of the human resources personnel are Filipinos. In fact, the company where I am working now, the HR who interviewed me was a Bisaya like me from Dumaguete and almost 70 percent of my colleagues are Filipinos.</span></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">In the malls, grocery stores and all other stalls and shops, kabayans can be seen. And even when I went to do my medical in a certain medical clinic, the nurses there where Filipinas, as well as the customer service.</span></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">view from satwa round about</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">And even inside the trains, I can sit beside Filipinos moat especially when I use the bus going back home, back to Satwa, 98 percent of the passengers are Pinoys even the driver is pinoy.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I felt like I am living in the Philippines with those sky scraping towers and buildings. In Dubai, you won't see much garbage especially in the public places. In villas, the landlords make it a point to do inspections and give penalties to who have dirty villas. The penalties and fines would go up to 2000 aed which is equivalent to more than 20k Philippine peso.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Now, if you happen to know anyone who is in Dubai now, just ask him or her if she knows the little Manila here in Dubai and they know where that is.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Living in the middle East is hard because of the temperature and the weather plus the people's attitude and most of the them have a strange smell. But I still consider it as an opportunity to earn and save for my future. I don't aim of living here for good, I would still prefer to grow old in the Philippines with the people I love and friends whom I can talk and go out. To be able to visit springs and waterfalls, climb mountains and swim on beautiful beaches. To feel the coldness of the wind breeze on an early morning and to hear the drops of rain in a Saturday afternoon. </span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I would also like to sleep under a huge acacia tree while listening to the singing of the birds and to smell the aroma of the fresh ripe fruits specially the favorite mangoes and bananas.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">These are the things I miss about home but for now, what can I do? I have to wait for the right time that I can come home and so all of these things. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I haven't posted anything since I landed a job here in Dubai, I missed a lot of things and I haven't shared any of my experiences for the past weeks. June has just ended and I don't want to start July without telling you and sharing how my month went out. Here are the highlights of my stay here for the entire month.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; text-align: right;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara2.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, Arabic</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">1. I landed a job and started training at a certain logistics company in Jebel Ali Dubai. I met a lot of people from different countries like India, Syria, Egypt and Pakistan. There many friendly ones and yet there are also other snobs and crazy ones but mostly are definitely friendly. The office is very far from where I am staying so I have to wake up early because I have to travel for an hour going to the bus station where our company bus would fetch us. From the station, it would take like 25 minutes to arrive at the office. It's kind of exhausting and sometimes I become tired with the travel time. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">look at them!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">2. We visited the Dubai gold city at a place on Dubai named gold souq. I know gold and other kinds of jewelries are really eye alluring and all however when I arrived at gold souq, I never thought I would immediately get enough of it because the place was full of gold here and everywhere. If I could compare it to any area in Cebu or in manila I can say that it's like divisoria in manila or carbon in Cebu but instead of vegetables or any types of goods, in front of us were all but gold. White Gold, China gold, Saudi gold and every type of gold can be found there. Because of competition as well, the price there is cheaper compared to the other market areas. They have their own price per gram and I am thinking in the back of my mind that I can maybe start a business out of this. We'll see then.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara7.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">3. I went out of Dubai and went to Muscat Oman. It sounds exciting and I felt really excited about going to another country but it was a total opposite because Oman for me was boring and we went there at three in the afternoon, weather was very hot and the flight made me dizzy and then made my head ache. I went there with my friend colleague named rose from Cebu as well. We only stepped on Oman for forty five minutes. We were running towards the check in area that we never had the chance to get a photo of ourselves. The country looked boring for me and I just thought that being in Dubai is a lot better than being in Oman.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>

<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/4VE3DSHyFZE" width="560"></iframe></center>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">4. My brother and I watched Yeng Constantino perform for free. Yeng is actually one of my favorite Filipina artists, when I was still in the Philippines, I had always dream of watching her sing and see her in person but there was never a chance for me yet. But I am glad a specific Club here in Dubai had a free admission with Yeng as their guest singer last June 14. It was a tribute to the Philippines Independence Day. At first I thought of not going since I have work on the next day. It was already bed time at ten in the evening when my brother's good childhood friend notified him that he was in Dubai for that specific gig. He is a drummer and he will be playing together with his band for Yeng. Instead of sleeping, we both immediately jump off our feet and ran towards the said club which was just near our villa. I definitely enjoyed the show and found Yeng very friendly and happy. I like her because of her talent as well as because she is a Christian. She actually looks like Maja Salvador, she's pretty and she is a petite lady. I guess I am taller than her and though she is short she had this kind of energy which would definitely bring the crowd in and song with her. All the kabayans were pretty happy that night and had enjoyed the show, she sang one of my favorite songs, Pagibig. She also sang Medley songs of eraser heads and she even did the giyomi chant. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara3.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">5. I got the chance to also visit an open beach here which was very beautiful; I can compare it to some private resorts in Bohol. Though it was a public Beach Resort, you would not think it is just a public one because it has a wonderful view with a long shoreline and a beautiful background at night. The sand was super fine and though it was not that white, I still like it was almost like pinkish. There were also playgrounds and exercise grounds in the middle of the shore. At night, the city lights and the sky scraper buildings were a wondrous scene.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dxb-ara5.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">6. It was an amazing experience to be watching the dancing fountain of Dubai as well in front of the tallest building in the whole wide world, Burj Khalifa. My brother brought me there and I had a blast because we were just in front of the waterbed and once the water burst up and goes back down, the people around was all drenched. It is amazing that the water fountain would actually dance to the tune of the music that it would play. There were four songs played per night, we got to watch the two songs only, one was a Chinese song and the other was an Arabic one. They say that if the music is fast and rhythmic, the fountain can go up very high almost ranging to the height of Burj Khalifa. It was really impressive and not to mention, we got to see the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo where thousands of fishes big and small as well as sharks were free for everyone to see inside Dubai Mall. By the way, Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa are just sitting right next to each other. Once you visit Dubai Mall, at night you can watch the dancing fountains all of these for free!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The start of June and the end of May has been a productive week for me. I actually had accepted an offer from a big company here in Dubai after going through more than twenty interviews by the third week of May however, I was disappointed that they didn’t hand me my offer letter or contract even after waiting for five days for it. I was sitting and lying at home for the entire time then I decided to stop waiting and finalize things with them. The HR manager who told me he’ll process it told me that the offer letter needs verification and approval from the COO and he wasn't sure when would that be. I was thinking about my visa by that time and because I had already wasted five days, which by the way is like a whole week, I need to get a visa as soon as possible so that I won’t anymore extend my Tourist visa.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Anyways, to make the long story short, I called up that company and told finalize that I can’t anymore wait for the offer letter and because they couldn't really provide me a definite answer, I went on and asked a previous colleague to submit my resume or CV to their HR. It’s a famous logistics company here in UAE and I was glad that after the HR manager who was also a Filipino and from Dumaguete City received the CV, he immediately called me and scheduled for an interview.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a>Again, on the interview, I met another Kababayan who was very accommodating and whom I became friends with, he was a cruise ship crew and went to UAE for love. I get kind of jealous knowing about how he sacrificed his passion to be with his fiancee.<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> So after that interview, both of us were accepted and offered of the position. The next day which was last May 28, we both started training.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Now the thrill came when I was having my lunch that day, the first company called up and informed me that my offer letter is ready. I was very confused by that time and the only way to select the right company was to compare the two companies. Because the current company gives me better benefits, I selected it and turned down the previous one which had disappointed me really!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">So I am now waiting for my employment visa which will come out soon and will be exiting the country either to Oman or Kish.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Congratulate me!</span></div>

<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dubai-sky-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/dubai-sky-3.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">It has been a week since I arrived here in Dubai UAE, I recall that day when I first had a glimpse of what Dubai is, I saw blurry skies and cemented structures. Tall buildings, train stations, unified trees, neat, clean city but full of sand or dust. That day when I arrived, I asked my brother why the other end of the city is kind of blurry, said it's sandstorm. So, since that day, I would always look up the skies but I have never seen a single cloud at all yet nor a clear blue sky. And oh the starry night is always absent here as well. I miss Bohol and I am longing for that view we have at the back of our house in Guindulman. The wind there blows swiftly and the blue sky with lots of clouds doing a slow dance and then there's the green rice fields which turns light brown during summer. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">In here, the sky's color is dull blue, if I look on the horizon, I see a blurry view. If there's a sandstorm, my brother said the place is full of dust and that if you go out, your nose will definitely be filled with dust. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">At night, the skies don't show any stars only the moon. I believe the moon is quiet lonely there with no other company but the sky scraper buildings. I guess the reason why Dubai has a lots of shimmering things designs here like the Burj Khalifa is because they would like to see some stars across the sky at night. Though it is just an artificial star, at least they have something which represents those ones which aren't available in this country.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I will be waiting for that day when the skies here will show a little bit of cloud or star during the night. It will definitely be worth celebrating, then I will not call this country a cloudless country anymore.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is a continuation to my previous post regarding my first international flight experience...</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/flight5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/flight5.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">While waiting for my turn, some airport personnel were handing out the departure information sheet in which I wrote down some personal information. </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">After thirty minutes of waiting and standing, I went nearer to the check in counter; I provided my passport, ticket and a certain travel tax receipt since I am travelling with a visit visa. I had to run over to the counter for my travel tax, paid Php 1620 and returned with the receipt in hand. The counter person immediately assisted me and provided my boarding pass and the baggage claim stub.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I rushed at once to the next counter to pay the terminal fee which was Php 550, boarding pass was the only document needed for this step. Then I went over to the travel verification counter, these guys were from the immigration office and I am considering this step as the most annoying procedure. I went to Miss Basher’s window, presented all of my documents, passport, Visa and the attested affidavit of support from my brother which was sent to me a day before my flight schedule. Miss Basher was a strict; her looks were telling me she isn’t pleased with me. While checking on the documents, she asked why the handwriting on the departure info sheet and the one on my visa are identical, at this point; she was looking at me ridiculously and asked if the visa and affidavit of support were sent to me from UAE. Of course I said yes, I received it yesterday and that my brother and my penmanship looks the same but those documents were definitely sent from the UAE. She was still skeptical and asked a couple of documents, first she want me to hand her my brother’s birth certificate which I don’t have with me (I was already sweating by this time). Since I can’t provide the document, I presented her my brother’s Overseas Employment Certificate instead but she asked for my brother’s birth date, I replied with the month and day but I forgot the year.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Still not satisfied yet, she then asked for the date of my brother’s last flight back to UAE was. All I can recall was that it was 2012 but can’t remember the exact month and date. It should be within the first quarter of the year, somewhere between March and April; she was not convinced at all! She handed back all my documents and commanded me to go to their immigration office. I went over and presented my brother’s passport copy, the personnel was not courteous too! He wasn’t doing anything but was not happy when I went inside and he looked like he doesn’t want to entertain me. He wrote my brother’s recent flight back to UAE and handed me back the copy with a sad face. I wonder what’s wrong with these guys here.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Then I went back to Miss Basher’s window but she was not there, the other lady next to her told me to wait. I waited for almost 15 minutes before she finally came back. I wonder what kept her busy then, but finally, she stamped my passport with the exit mark. I gave her my sweetest thank you but she didn’t respond at all and simply ignored me.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">That’s the final step and I went ahead to the waiting area and finally released a big sigh. I rested and called my parents and James to let them know I had survived!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Apologies for the delay, my Emirates Airlines flight will be posted soon…promise!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/flight.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/flight.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My first international flight was with Emirates Airlines which gave me a taste of quality service and an unforgettable experience. It’s totally different compared to a domestic flight for so many reasons. But, as much as I would like to share that experience with you right now, I would prefer to share first the processes I went through before I could finally stepped in the said plane.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My brother demanded I should be at the airport five hours before my flight schedule, it’s kind of early I thought but I have to follow him since he had done this and that before. However, when he demanded I should be in Manila a day before the flight, I wanted to say no but then again, since this is my first time, I just let it be and agree to his commands. And so I flew to Manila last May 7 via ZestAir, I thought I had chosen the right airline then until I was told I had to pay Php 2250 for my excess baggage. I was preparing a thousand peso for my 25 kilo baggage, and then I thought I should have gone with Cebupac since they have this better baggage deal, but anyways, I was there and I was left with no other choice so I paid the amount with a sad and heavy heart.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Due to the baggage issue plus the super hot temperature inside the tiny Tagbilaran Airport, I wasn’t able to properly bid goodbye to my family and to James, it was almost 12 when I checked in and the flight schedule was at 12:25. Well, remembering that scene I guess there was an advantage to that, it left us with no “drama” moments, I didn’t see mama cry unlike when we were sending off my two brothers last year. Then I wasn’t able to kiss James goodbye too, haha! I didn't cry too until I reached the waiting area but I composed myself and just thought of happy stuff.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">ZestAir is indeed different to CebuPac in terms of service and amenities; I would prefer flying with Cebupac in the future.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">In an hour, I was in Manila, some relatives fetched me from the airport going to Taguig where I stayed for a day and met some far relatives I just saw for the first time and they also sent me off to the airport the next day. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Initial plan was to be at the airport at five in the afternoon however, we went out of my aunt’s house at five thirty. She cooked dinner and she asked me to eat before going, so I did. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Then I made a mistake, I didn’t pay much attention to my ticket and so when my cousin asked me what terminal to go and what airline, I didn’t even bother to check my ticket and told him it’s Philippine Airlines, since he was familiar with the specific terminals for the airlines, he assumed it’s in terminal 2. We were saying our goodbyes then, I went inside the terminal and I was thankful a guard approached me and asked for my ticket courteously, “Baka kasi ma’am sa ibang terminal ka kasi Dubai yung pupuntahan mo” and boy I was glad he did. I should be in Terminal 1 as per my ticket, my cousins didn’t go away yet so they accompanied me to the said terminal. Downside was, the taxi driver asked me to pay Php 200 for the five minute drive from Terminal 2.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We finally bid our last goodbyes when the lady guard confirmed that I was in the right terminal, I waved and signaled them that I’m okay. I soon entered the My 25 kilo baggage was very heavy but this gentleman helped me carry it to the x-ray lane. And while inside the airport’s international departure area, looking at the crowd with all the people going from here to there, I don’t know what to do first. I tried looking for any guide boards, like those in some government offices like DFA where it gives us a step by step process on what to do first and this and that but I couldn’t find one, I started roaming around, after ten minutes, I found myself in front of an information desk. The sweet lady confirmed I should wait first since the check in time will be at eight at counter 24-32. Woah! Now I know what to do first.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/flight2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/flight2.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">In my seat I just figured out that there’s a huge board in front of me which spins (like that of a slot machine) and changes the information every once in a while. It has the destination, flight number and the counter where to check in, it also has the info on what gate to go to by boarding time. By eight, the labels all spun but I couldn’t locate my flight number in the board (by this time, I started to get nervous). Ticket shows flight number was PR660 but board shows the only Dubai destination flight was EK335. Then I recalled my father’s text message that in anytime I feel troubled or afraid I should remember Psalm 23, it helped me indeed and I was okay (you might want to check it too). I went over to counter 28 and stood at the end of a very long line.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I guess I need to take a break, stay posted! I'll just play <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2013/04/the-best-candy-ever.html" target="_blank">Candy Crush</a>!</span></div>

<a href="http://www.bubblews.com/assets/images/carrousel/no_picture.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="147" src="http://www.bubblews.com/assets/images/carrousel/no_picture.png" width="320" /></a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Who would think that I could be this active with online paying site named <a href="http://www.bubblews.com/?referral=5178ad1d22fda8.00397848" target="_blank">Bubblews</a>? I joined it because my brother's been asking me to make articles for him and I was curious with how this site is helping him get extra cash. So instead of making articles for him, I made an account for myself but had used James' name instead. I just thought it might be safer that way so the readers will think that it's a he rather than a she who’s posting those things there. Well, I still ended up making articles under my name though and it looks fine since the site is a democratic one. You can post anything from diary-like articles to news to tutorials and the like.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The site would only require you to post an article which has at least 400 characters and you're good to go but I prefer making articles which aren't short. The truth is that I like my post to contain 300 words and above with specific photos. Photographs have something with them which attracts readers you know.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">So I am now on my first month with this site and guess what, unlike Adsense where in it took me two long years to finally get my first $100, with Bubblews, it only took me a month to get my sweet $25. With my first month, I didn’t focus on making a lot of articles; in fact I only post one article in a day and a total of 20 as of today, I never really focused myself on it yet I got to get rewarded. There are account holders here which can redeem their $25 in just a single week. That's how amazing this site is, I am glad my brother introduced me to it. Since I am still waiting for my tourist visa for UAE, this one here is making me busy and of course <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2013/04/the-best-candy-ever.html" target="_blank">Candy Crush</a>. Haha</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/candycrush.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/candycrush.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">While I was still working and I go on long vacations in my home town in Bohol, the first five days make me very busy catching up with what I missed about my birth place. Mom and I with family talk about everything and anything under the sun, I request foods which I haven't eaten for awhile, play around with my niece and catch up with some childhood friends. This is the usual trend, most of the time I would miss some of the lists here because of time shortage however right now, because I am on an indefinite vacation and since I am on my seventh day, I have already done almost all of the normal things I do. I am starting to feel idle and want to really work, in a couple of weeks from now I will be out of budget and that scares me but thanks to Candy Crush, it makes me busy these past days. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">For the benefit of those who don't know what Candy Crush is, it is actually a Facebook game, it is played by matching three or more candies while completing the given task, a player is given maximum of five lives and if you lost all the given lives, you can request for friends, earn a life by viewing an advertisement or simply wait for the life to add up after a few minutes. The rules seem to be simple but the catch here’s that the level of the challenges increase on each stage. There's a road map of the challenges and honestly speaking, I still don't know where it leads, maybe there's a pot of gold at the end of it, that I'm not sure yet but all I know is that I want to reach that point. Unfortunately, I am stuck at level 33 at this point, all I need is to clear all the jellies, sounds pretty fine but I am stuck here for already a day. This is the longest time I took to clear a single stage though, it makes me want to quit. Well, the main reason I am writing this is because I am tired of asking lives from my friends. I guess I have to rest and will play again after an hour.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It's funny because I haven't played any Facebook or online game since the Farmtown. Yeah, that was really long time ago; I was still in college when I was crazy about my farm. I realize how much time I was wasting planting, watering, harvesting and beautifying my farm then I eventually stopped. While right now, I am still entertained by this candy stuff thanks to my Facebook friends who has been sending me requests and lives. I'll do my best so I can skip to the next level.</span></div>

</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Gladly surprised – this is what I felt when I learned that Google had sent me my first ever $101 cash out from my adsense account. My personal blog, <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/">www.jeanbeltran.info</a> has been running since 2010, in fact, we’ll be celebrating its 3rd anniversary this April 30, and my <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2010/04/my-first-post.html" target="_blank">first blog post</a> was kinda silly though, it was all about me, my history and my pledge to make an online diary religiously but I never thought of earning anything from the site. It served as my memory lane and as I have said, diary - a virtual one that when a certain time comes and I feel like nostalgic, I can go back and back read the previous posts I had published to reminisce my life’s experiences.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Because I had resigned from my call center job and bored, I thought about checking my Google adsense earnings, the last time I went checking on it, I had like $90 that was January I guess of this year. I never really do SEO stuff or any optimization thing because again, this just served as my plain diary. </span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Indeed astonished to see that Google had sent me $101.91 as my first payment last February 26, 2013. That’s like a month ago so I felt bad that I haven’t claimed it yet. Immediately, I asked James to take me to the nearest western union branch. Gladly, the payment was not forfeited yet, well I don’t really know if it can be forfeited though but I guess I was just hysterical that I won’t be able to claim it. Happy and blessed! God had provided me extra cash for my daily expenses here in Cebu while waiting for my UAE visa through Google. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">God is indeed my provider, He works in ways I couldn’t see but his blessings are never late! And special thanks to Google!</span></div>

<a href="http://i.dramacrazy.net/Playful_kiss.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i.dramacrazy.net/Playful_kiss.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This Korean Drama revolves around the story of two totally different high school students who eventually complemented each other and ended up falling to each other's arms.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Oh Ha Ni, is just a normal student, she isn't good at anything except that she is persistent and optimistic about something she likes. On the contrary, Baek Sueng-jo is a man who knows all, he is the top one student </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">in their campus. While he is good at his grades, he has a not so good attitude especially to those students whom he refers as "dumb".</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Their first encounter was when Baek Sueng-jo bought a drink from a vending machine and Oh Ha Ni helped him get the stuck drink by kicking the machine.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">By that time, Oh Ha Ni got the guts to send him a love letter which was then ignored by Baek Sueng-jo , instead he rated it as D- and corrected some wrong grammars on the letter. He somehow returned it to Oh Ha Ni and had insulted her in front of a crowd.</span><br />

</script> <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There were many instances where Oh Ha Ni was insulted by Baek Sueng-jo but she was still persistent about liking him. The feelings got much stronger when a tragedy occurred, Oh Ha Ni and his dad's newly built house broke down when a mild earthquake took place. A Good Samaritan saw the news and happened to be Oh Ha Ni's father's best friend in college. They Soon stayed at the best friend’s house and Oh Ha Ni then found out that</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Baek Sueng-jo was the son!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Though they have arguments on their own and Baek Sueng-jo looked like he doesn't like Oh Ha Ni at all, deep inside him, he was developing a different type of emotion towards the girl.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The first kiss happened during their graduation party, Oh Ha Ni was telling him that she will forget him that time; she was then surprised when Baek Sueng-jo told her not to and then kisses her in the lips. It dropped </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">her down to her knees and cried. She was thinking he was just playing on her.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The second kiss happened when she was sleeping in a park and Baek Sueng-jo came to pass by, not aware that his little brother was there, he then kissed her. Oh Ha Ni on the other hand was dreaming about him of </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">course and in that dream, he had kissed her too. When she woke up, Baek Sueng-jo was not there anymore.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A certain time came when Oh Ha Ni decided to stopped liking him because she thought he never likes him and has an eye for another girl. By that time, Oh Ha Ni was entertaining an old admirer from High school. It was raining when she returned home, Baek Sueng-jo was there waiting for her with an umbrella in hand. She talked about the date and that she will then try to look on some other guy. This hurt him and caused </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">to reveal his real feelings for Oh Ha Ni then eventually kissed her again under the rain. (Such a romantic scene!)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Oh Ha Ni can't contain her emotions, she eventually cried. Their relationship ended to wedding bells. Baek Sueng-jo then told her that he finds her cute and pretty sometimes which makes him wonder more about her </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">and eventually made him love her. On their wedding day, Oh Ha Ni learned about the second kiss from Baek Sueng-jo’s little brother, made her feel much better on her wedding day.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Am now counting the days until I official bid goodbye to the first company which I worked for, my first job after graduation and my first ever call center experience. It has been almost four years and I never regret being here, I have nothing to compare it to but I had unforgettable memories and experiences in this company. Working for two accounts had helped me see more of the world and had enhanced my skills.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I cannot contain my happiness when I got hired last May 11, 2009. As a fresh graduate, I have no work experience except for my OJT especially about the BPO world. All I knew at that time was I need to get a job, while others may see call center job isn't good, I never thought about it negatively, I believed it was a blessing.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I started supporting a product I learned to know when I was in grade school - Palm. When it was introduced to us during the signing of contract, I remembered the handheld I saw when a missionary came to our province before. I got excited that I will be handling customers owning those types of gadgets. I thought it was really cool.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My wave mates were also cool, we developed this type of friendship within us and though some of them we had parted ways now, some still remained until this day. After a year, I shed a tear when our original teams with my wavemates as my team mates were distributed to different groups, that was the starting point and I soon had learned that in the call center world, change is inevitable.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I opened my doors to different personalities, varieties of people, they come and go but the account that I was part of was one of a kind. We were like family and we certainly had this type of atmosphere where we felt like we connected to each other.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I belonged to four team leads in the Project Hand, two of them I was a level one agent while the other two, I got into the specialist department. Then after, the account started to waiver and soon it was dissolved. Most of my friends were transferred to a new account and eventually I did too!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Welcome to Uverse. I then learned customer service; to please them was our goal. Unlike the previous account which was purely technical, the new one was quite different, we were expected to go down with our customers, we have to answer their needs and submit to their requests. I learned customer service phrases and never thought I would survive. I coped up and learned a lot from tv connections, to cvoip and the internet access troubleshooting and at the same time, learned how to deal with emotional customers.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And then, I finally came to decide that I have to move on, I am inside my comfort zone right here. I thought I will stay here for a decade but I guess I can't stop change, I have to look for another job which can provide me a better monetary support, I wouldn't be able to find something like that here, it is very saddening! I don't want to go but I am not satisfied with my idle-lity here. I can't stay like this for another year and so I am again counting the days left for me here, in the first company who accepted me.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Until then, I can finally say, I was Sykes.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://nursethoughts.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/red-ribbon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://nursethoughts.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/red-ribbon.jpg" width="600" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://nursethoughts.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">img src</a></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">One of the requirements in working abroad especially in selected countries is an authenticated TOR or diploma. It is popularly called red ribbon because literally, the papers have red ribbon on it. I had researched about how to get my TOR done online but the instructions were vague and I never learned until I personally processed it myself.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">1. Go to your respective university registrar office and ask for a TOR/Diploma request slip or bring your old copies and tell them for red ribbon, they'll know what to do right away.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">It was our first time to come back since we graduated. James and I noticed that the campus was very silent, as in literally silent, the students were all busy studying, we both wonder if it was their midterm exams. I was kinda lost when looking for the registrar office, I found it just adjacent to the old office though, specifically window number 25.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">2. Pay processing fees.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">After filling in the request slip, the registrar officer will then fills in the necessary fees and advise you to pay it at a specific accounting window. Mr. Reyes asked for a letter of intent as well addressed to the university registrar because I have to ask for a secondary copy of my diploma, I guess this letter is optional and was just required for formality purposes.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I paid the following:</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Diploma 650</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Tor 252</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Authentication 224</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Scan 32</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Xerox 10</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Doc stamps 15</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Ched 100</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">3. Return receipt to registrar.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Right after Mr. Reyes reviewed the receipts; he then gave me the claim stub and advised to return by February 16, 2013. He informed me that three days from the date I requested, the TOR and Diploma certified true copies will be generated, since they'll be sending the copies to CHED themselves and their schedules are every Friday, the documents will not be sent until the 2nd of February. CHED processing will be two weeks and will forward the documents to DFA Manila.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">4. Claim at DFA manila or ship through DHL.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">As I was told, as soon as I receive my DFA claim stub, I should contact DHL or Wide Wide World Express so they can ship the documents back to me. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My claiming date is on March 3, 2013 and I thought that is too long to wait so what I did instead was go to CHED and asked for my actual documents. I then went to DHL in Lapulapu City since it's near to where I am staying a</span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">nd indeed, DHL does the work for Php 500 good for 10-15 business days. It is a bit long but that's much faster than waiting for CHED to send it to DFA then DHL to me which will take 10-15 working days as well after March 3.</span><br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/theimpossible.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/theimpossible.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The title definitely reflects the whole movie itself, it was indeed something which you would think was impossible to happen, but it did! Though I have a heart about fiction stories, I am a fan of true story movies and this is the main reason why I swear to watch it.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">I don't want to be a spoiler but I want to share my own overview of the story and review too.</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">It could have been a wonderful vacation for the Bennett family if the unfortunate event didn't occur. They stayed in a bungalow in front of the beautiful white sand beach and clear blue sea of Khao Lak, Thailand. Actually they were expecting the room to be in the third floor but certain things changed and they never mind since the area where they seated were indeed marvelous. </span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">The story's plot happened when the devastating tsunami occurred unexpectedly, as most tourists were enjoying their stay at the pool and some at the beach. I could imagine the actual situation; it must be a fast sequence of happenings. The angry sea water splashed its big waves over the resort and to the neighboring areas. The family had been separated when the tsunami took off. Maria, the mom had been hurt relentlessly and was lucky she found her eldest son while still being swirled by the washing machine-like waves of the furious waters. Lucas, the eldest had some injuries but endured it; he was his mom's help the entire time. His dad, on the other hand found his two younger brothers holding on a palm tree and happily the three of them were alright, they don't have any severe cuts or wounds. </span></div>
<br />

//</script> <script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">
</script> <br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">When Maria and Lucas were looking for some help, they found a boy named Daniel and I guess he was their angel. Because they helped him, the favor returned to them and to their family. God does indeed gives back your good works hundred folds. </span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Even though they were scattered to different rescue centers and hospitals with hundreds if not thousands of victims were being taken cared, they managed to stay strong and eventually came back to each other's arms. If Simon didn't go down the truck and pee, and Lucas gave up on looking for his dad when he had a slight glimpse of his feet walking and if Maria didn't stay strong through all the pains she had gone through and if Henry didn't pursue looking for his family, they won't be able to find each other and become a family again.</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">It was a crying moment for me each time I see Maria going through a tough time with all her cuts, I couldn't picture myself in her situation. But I believe she had rejoiced and thanked God more because His Grace brought her family back to her alive.</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">So if you haven't watched it yet, you might miss half of your life!</span></div>

<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/tagxedo-teambea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/tagxedo-teambea.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">My current work team came up with our team t-shirts for our team pictorial this February and I was assigned to make the designs. Miss Bea, our team leader asked for something which showcases all our names on it and of which would still looks appealing and unique. Because I don’t want to make it hard for myself, I looked for something which will definitely save me time and effort. And just before I could search for anything, I recalled this website called <a href="http://wordle.net/">wordle.net</a> which makes a word collage. I came up with a simple collage with our team mates’ names on it. I wasn’t satisfied with how it went out since the names were kind of imbalanced in terms of the allocations.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So then I looked for an alternative, I thought it would be great if there are more than just single words for each names and that it would cover the whole front part of the t-shirts. We opt to use a blank one since it is so unisex and will definitely make the healthier ones slimmer!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I came upon this <a href="http://tagxedo.com/">tagxedo.com</a> site which aside from make up a word collages; I can upload a specific image and make it as a guide on how the collage would look like. I then made a template with a huge B on the center and when I uploaded it, added our names with a maximum of 200 words the result was indeed satisfying for me.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a><script type="text/javascript">

google_ad_height = 15;
//</script> <script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">
</script><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">As soon as my older brother saw this, he asked me to make them their design too! I just referred him to the same site; he was kind of lost when he started working with the site and so that’s the reason why I made up this guide.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Let me show you how to play around with it and make an image word collage. We will start with making up our own customize image first.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I made a 2x1.5in cloud with a transparent image, save it with any photo file type. So we are ready to make our photo collage. Click the start now button at tagxedo.com’s homepage, doing this will route you to the specific application.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/tagxedo-app1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/tagxedo-app1.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Take a close look on this screen here, this is the application and I’ll walk you through on each options.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Load – clicking this will give you the window where we can enter the words or names that you would like your collage be composed of then click submit. By the way, you can upload a whole text file as well or get a url link down there.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Save/share – this will give us the option to save the image as jpg etc. or if you would like to publish it online but we are not doing that yet, we will proceed with the Repins options.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Color – randomizes the word colors depending on the current theme selected. On each click, the words’ hue changes too!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Theme – basically gives the option to change the color theme. Lots of color themes available here! I selected the White over Black, which means I have white colored texts over a black background.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Font – there’s a variety of fonts available to select on, what I really love about it is the fact that I am not limited with the available fonts, I can as well use the computer’s own local font by selecting local fonts. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Orientation – gives the option on the orientation of the words, you can select from:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">• Any – a combination of horizontal and vertical</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">• Horizontal – all words are placed horizontally</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">• Vertical – all words are placed vertically</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">• H/V (Orthogonal) – jumbled words</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Layout – respins the layout in each click. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Let’s go to the Options part which is my favorite feature, shape – gives the option of changing the way your collage looks like. There are specific templates already available but you can upload your own image and that’s what we are gonna do today. Simply click the add image button and browse on the cloud image we made earlier.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Viola!!! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/tagxedo-app3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/tagxedo-app3.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">And now, we have our new t-shirt design, piece of a cake right? Don’t for get to save it!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Long vacation leaves were approved for James and mine’s supposedly <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2013/01/discouraging-plans-for-surigao.html" target="_blank">Surigao tour</a> however, we need to cancel it out due to bad weather and work schedule conflict. So, I got the chance to roam around a couple of malls in the city and, unfortunately I swept some cash off and rarely, I have the guts to share what I had purchased.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I went to SM City Cebu first and went straight to Surplus store. I buy shirts here and I bought another one, it's a Pink-branded blue blouse with LOVE PINK label in the front part. It was good for Php 199 only!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-pinkshirt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-pinkshirt.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a><script type="text/javascript">

google_ad_height = 15;
//</script>
<script src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js" type="text/javascript">
</script><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">From there I went to SM Department for the travel document organizer since I will be travelling soon but there weren’t any purple or pink colored ones anymore so instead, I went to National Bookstore but couldn't find anything which can be equivalent to it. Artwork is just a few steps from Natio so I went in anyway their displays are visually cute and artistic. My eyes found their way to these cute pouches and I thought my palm pre needs a new one. This one here caught my attention, I bought it eventually, it was worth Php 119.75. </span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-artwork.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-artwork.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">At five in the afternoon, James followed me and we ate at Greenwhich. After then he sent me off to Ayala since his office is just in Keppel, he can fetch me later after work. I went straight to National Bookstore, still looking for that travel document organizer yet, I ended buying three stuffs: </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-venzinotebook.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-venzinotebook.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Hardbound Venzi blank notebook</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I have been looking for a blank notebook for my nothing-to-do doodles. Worth Php 165, this 13x21cm, 192-paged wood-free paper with an expandable inner pocket suits very well to my doodle needs.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-lapis.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-lapis.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Faber Castel 0.7mm mechanical pencil</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">This pencil worth Php 37 is for my new blank notebook, I choose something which is very portable and convenient. I dislike the ones with caps since I have a great tendency of losing them easily. Pencil is most preferable for doodles so I erase the mistakes.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Bo Sanchez' </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">James is a fan, he watch Kerygma and even joined one big event years ago. James just likes to read inspirational books so this will be a great gift for his soon 25th birthday. Hopefully, he won't be able to read this post before his birthday which will be on February 18, yeah I am 18 days older than James. By the way, that book was worth Php 350.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-book.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-book.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Sterling birthday card</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Well, a birthday gift won't be considered a good gift without a birthday card so I was buying one.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">My mall tour won't be complete without going to the grocery. I remember a blogger friend posted that the grocery is her favorite place and so as mine. Kilos of rice, mangoes, a bottle of Enervon c, a slice of squash for the next day meal and a Nivea lip balm are all that I had purchased since I had bought groceries two days before as well.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-nivea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/febstuff-nivea.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">When I reached home at nine in the evening, I was feeling a little regretful after buying those which aren't that really important. I was kind of sorry but at the other end of my mind, it's shouting that I should be thankful that i have cash to pay my needs and my wants though so I shouldn't regret anything which made me happy in the first place. Hopefully I won't be buying anymore unnecessary things these following days.</span></div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/birthday-25cake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/birthday-25cake.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I lied when I told you that December is my favorite month. The truth is that January is my first ever favorite one because it is my birth month; I know you will forgive me, everyone has their own birth month and that I suppose they consider it as their favorite month too.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Today marks the first month of February of the year 2013, and that I just bid goodbye to January 2013 last night, yes I was awake before the first minute of February stroke. Today, I would like to recall what happened the whole month. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I almost had my <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2013/01/adventure-cafe-balamban-cebu.html" target="_blank">first zip-line experience</a>, it was supposed to be the best place and the best people to be with yet because of the bad weather, but I never realized it. Anyways, there’s luxury of time to do it one of these days.</span><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Then I got the chance to make some digital scrapbooks again! Hooray! To those who don’t know me well, my first love is actually art. When I went to college I learned about this software which became my best-friend, stress reliever and entertainer. Whenever I have nothing to do or if I can’t sleep of if I am stressed, I turn to it and make some digital scrapbooks. So the next time I make one, you should know by then that I had some downtime in my life. Tehee. Try visiting my digital scrapbook blog as well. Type <a href="http://www.freescrapbooks.blogspot.com/">www.freescrapbooks.blogspot.com</a>. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Since college, I had been collecting Candy magazines, though I don’t buy the latest ones, I definitely buy two or more late editions to catch up with the etsy cute mag. The last edition I bought was the June 2013 volume featuring the uber-cute Mario Maurer. The next day, James bought me a lovely and unique marshmallow candy from Savemore called Erko mallow pop. Described as marshmallows twisted and looped, served in a stick, such a cutie! Well, aside from that the background cute guy adds up to the tasty treat. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I remember claiming my <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2013/01/how-to-claim-passport-in-dfa-cebu.html" target="_blank">passport</a> the first week; it’s a great way of starting the year which opens me to any international opportunity. Wew…this makes me excited. Then just before the month ended, I processed my transcript of records and diploma authentication. I will soon be receiving it in two weeks time and that I will soon be budding goodbye to my first ever company, that’s still soon to happen so I don’t want tell more about it. Anyway, I will soon be sharing my experience here always that’s for sure. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/birthday-25.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/birthday-25.jpg" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">I also had celebrated my 25th birthday yesterday with my cake here from James again. I had a small gathering with my close friends and shared some sweet food! Happy birthday to me indeed. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">And oh! I am back to Facebook photo liking contest. It's a type of competition when I submit a specific photo then the most number of likes will win an iPad Mini. Hmm, so I really need your help. Kindly hit click this link <a href="http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=414396258650917&set=a.413742992049577.90750.322059447884599&type=1&theater" target="_blank">here</a> and click the like plus share buttons! <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">These past few months, I got hooked with watching volleyball games on the television, specifically this UAAP season 75 which started last November, 2012. During college days, I would love watching their games as well yet I didn’t bother to really get to know the players. However, because of my housemates’ influences, I have now known more than ever the players of the different schools in fact I become addicted to the said sport.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I then came to love a specific team, they aren’t the top of the season but I totally like them and found myself following each game they play. They are the ladies in blue, that’s a hint which you wouldn’t miss guessing. The Lady Eagles are my favorite and I have three favorite players, well I like some from the other schools yet there’s something special about the lady eagles which breaks my heart whenever they lose a match.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Below are the girls I get to look up too during the ADMU’s games:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i55.tinypic.com/t9cegh.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i55.tinypic.com/t9cegh.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Gretchen Ho – Because of volleyball, I learned that she is indeed Robi Domingo’s girlfriend. She’s beautiful and well, I am fascinated with beautiful and sporty girls. Then here comes her style in playing, I am not a sporty person so with watching the games, I had learned that Gretchen Ho’s style is called running spike. I already followed her in Twitter and liked her page in Facebook. She updates her twitter sometimes though.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltoetyelp61qj10pwo1_500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ltoetyelp61qj10pwo1_500.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Fillet Cainglit – I call her the girl who keeps her hair neat even after the game. She had an injury during their first round match with DLSU and hasn’t been permitted to play any game yet so far but she is present on each game to support her team mates. This girl right here is indeed cute, I was thinking she was short but found out later that she is almost as tall as Tajima. She does spikes and blocks which had been the cause of her injury. I noticed then that since the match when she had her injury, the team hadn’t won any game yet. Hopefully, she could get back to pay and the team can then bounce back. Their next game is tomorrow, Sunday January 27, 2013. We’ll see then if she’ll gonna play.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://matchpoint.ph/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/valdez.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://matchpoint.ph/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/valdez.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Alyssa Valdez – I consider myself her new fan! I like her humbleness yet she’s a great player. She had been so called “Phenomenal” and always an “MVP” on each of their winning games. She is tall and has a slender body, which I found really attracting. She wears her number 2 jersey on each game and of course her smile – her best asset, I suppose. I then learned after searching for her images in google that she plays Beach Volleyball too with Cainglit. After following her in Twitter, I thought she is close to Ella De Jesus and she is Gretchen Ho’s bed buddy. And oh! This BS Psychology student is not just good in sport but also in school. I am indeed a big FAN!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It was too late when I realized that I am becoming boyish after I finished looking at their twitter photos! Then there's two things I wish, that one day I could have a photo with them together while wearing a number 2 jersey from Alyssa-nity! Wohooo!... :)</span></div>
<br />

<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/adventurecafe-zipline.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/adventurecafe-zipline.jpg" width="600" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">If I was given the chance to make a wish last Thursday, I would have wished for the weather at Gaas, Balamban to be as sunny as Cebu City's. Why? Because it could have been my first zip-line experience, too sad it rained and fog was all around the place, our plan as a team was extremely ruined. What was supposed to be a beautiful team socials day for the team Beatot became a simple, cold and rainy morning, it was like those normal days except that we went from Cebu City to Balamban, was like 30 kilometers away from the office then just had an extra simple breakfast meal there.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Everyone felt disappointed, specially our team leader, it was all her plan and the sun shone brightly that Thursday morning who would thought that up there at Adventure Cafe has a different type of temperature.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Everyone was present, except for one who's about to be pulled out from our team to another. It was a great time to build camaraderie between team mates unfortunately, when we arrived, fogs were starting to assemble, marks of some rains were obvious from how the roads looked like but it wasn't raining yet. Though we sensed how cold it was, good thing I had brought my sweater with me.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">We never had a chance to do the zip line since it started raining while we wait for our meals then what's more disappointing was that the whole place was covered by fogs. Like literally covered, I was feeling it wouldn't be nice if we stay there the whole morning so we decided to go home at 11. Too sad but we'll find another time to get there and do those activities.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Adventure Cafe calls itself the first resto-adventure in the Philippines, they offer zip line, wall climbing/ rappelling, caving and more. They even have this love stuff where you buy a padlock, put your name and your love's on it and lock it on one of their staircase grills. And oh! They have a therapeutic stress wall at Php 25 per plate. They also have their menu, food starts at Php 38 for a simple suman or most popularly called budbud. Going there, we rode ourteam mate's van and hired a V-hire which was contacted by the cafe's personnel at Php 120 per person. Public vehicles can take you from Lahug to transcentral highway then to Balamban.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">And did I mention they have a lot of paintings there? The following are just some of them:</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Look what I have right now here with me? </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">A 3x4 inch 22 page maroon colored book with my big face and personal information in the second page with some glossy Philippine stamps in the background, aside from that I also have my smaller portrait behind those info. Characters were pin holed on each pages with and the pages look similar to that of our Philippine bills.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">And finally I received my passport. Finally! I had wanted to have one since I graduated college. Because I was one of the recipients of the DOST scholarship when I was in my tertiary years, I have to spend and work for four years here in the Philippines, actually it should be equivalent to the number of years that the scholars were receiving tuition subsidy from the government. I studied Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and that was four years of studies so until last year when the DOST office lift the obligations of scholars and are now free to travel abroad whatever the reasons behind it.</span></div>

</script><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">By then, I grabbed the chance and immediately applied for my passport. James has the same situation and we both got our own passports last January 8, 2013. Since I paid the express fee which was worth Php 1200, I should have claimed it last December 26, 2012 and James should have gotten his last December 28, 2012 but because of the Christmas vacation, we forgot about claiming it, so we just had the chance to get back to Pacific Mall where the Department of Foreign Affairs is located when we got back to Cebu after the long Christmas vacation.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Claiming the passport was as easy as 1,2,3. No more long lines here or priority numbers, from the entrance door of the DFA office, just go straight to the claiming area and present your claim stub provided when you applied for the said passport. Wait until name is called, you can just stand there since the wait isn't that long. We stood there for two minutes only and the interns handed the passports right away.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Next step here is to get my Transcript of Records red ribbon-ed by the DFA. Aja to me one step at a time!</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Originally planned as to visit the Philippine's Niagara Falls and Enchanted River after watching GMA's Born To be Wild show featuring the beautiful Enchanted River in Surigao. Thanks to Cebu Pacific's piso fare last September 2012, I got James and I round trip tickets for Mactan-Surigao City on February 1-4 this year. We are both excited as this will be our first domestic travel for this year 2013. But we realized we missed one thing with this specific trip - research. I blamed myself because I booked the ticket without even checking which airport best routes us to Surigao del Sur.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">By January first week, I started looking for some travel guide for Tinuy-an falls and the river yet I found out that for us to arrive there, we need to travel eight long hours first. I was devastated since this was not what we expected it to be. Though I love travelling, I don't have the patience to travel that long specially on this unknown place. I had read some posts about some unfortunate events on the road while travelling for Butuan. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"></span></div>
<a name='more'></a>Actually, for us to get to Bislig Surigao delsur where tinuy-an falls is, we have to travel from Surigao Del Norte to Butuan which is about three hours. From Butuan, we have to take another five hour trip via van or bus to Surigao del Sur then take a habal-habal to get to the Enchanted river as well as to Tinuy-an falls. I lost energy thinking about doing this research and my deep want to see this natural beauty personally has turned into a dissappointment.<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I am now considering cancelling this entire trip but hopefully, I will find the reasons to go on. Aja!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My SSS UMID came earlier than I expected, UMID means Unified Multipurpose Identification System</span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">. I had applied for it last April 2012 at our company office. Sykes Asia- Cebu had communicated with the SSS office so to accommodate their employees for the ID picture taking. Way before April, I had already submitted my application papers to the HR office and they emailed back with the corresponding schedules. I can't recall the exact date but I remember I came very early that day and someone gave us priority numbers. It was a quick though the personnel had taken my portrait twice. Though the photo came out not that satisfying, I am already contented with it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/sssid.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/sssid.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Since the ID was addressed to my provincial address in Guindulman, Bohol I didn't have any single idea that the letter from SSS with my ID came earlier. Mom received it last August but forgot to give it to me when we went to Manila last September to attend the wedding of my cousin, Jez and Bambie. I didn't receive her text message either, she had informed me via sms when she received it, I don't know but I never really received that notification. It should supposedly arrive after six months but it was two months early.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I have my colored picture in front with a tiny copy of it in it's side and some other information like my name of course, my address, citizenship and etc. This is the new type of SSS identification card which makes use of bio-metrics technology, it can be use with not just SSS services transactions but also with Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) and Home Development Mutual Fund. I am just glad about this unification thing because I find it redundant to be keeping multiple cards on my wallet. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span> <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">SSS Vice President for Member Services Mario Sibucao said that the UMID enables the four covered agencies to save costs, eliminate redundant identification systems and offer members a more secure and durable ID card that is tamper-proof, hard to fake and can last for up to 10 years.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Applying for a passport is indeed a hassle, well I guess this applies to all government agencies or offices, may it be in <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2012/11/my-epic-fail-passport-application_10.html" target="_blank">acquiring a driver's license</a> or <a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2011/11/missing-government-ids.html" target="_blank">securing an SSS ID</a>. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Here are the five steps on how I applied for my Passport: </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">1. <b>Secure a priority number.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-number.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-number.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">Previously, you found me ranting about my </span><a href="http://www.jeanbeltran.info/2012/11/my-epic-fail-passport-application_10.html" style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;" target="_blank">epic fail passport application</a><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"> where I wasn't able to even get a priority number but gladly, last Monday I finally secured a priority number at eight in the morning. I was number 316 while James was number 318. In my mind I couldn't help but laugh, imagine my previous visit here, I woke up early sacrificed a couple of hours sleep just to have this f***ng number. We left our identification cards with our application forms.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The front guard advised James and I to come back at two in the afternoon, great because I still have enough time to sleep. James had to go to work earlier that day so he can render exact hours of duty. </span></div>

<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-processing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-processing.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">As expected, the numbers called when we arrived were 100-150, disappointed but I manage to stay calm and instead bought a Candy magazine to entertain me. It took me two more hours to slowly turn the magazine's pages so to kill time; I would like to thank DFA office's looping entertaining prank videos as well.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We were given each a transaction numbers and waited while the numbers reflected in the LED board increased. Once numbers were called, we immediately went to the corresponding window where an officer checked the submitted documents and note the type of process, normal (10 business days) costs Php 9500 and Php 1200 for express which will be released after 25 business days. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">3. <b>Payment.</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-payment.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-payment.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">We proceeded to the cashier area for payment. I paid the express one since I am in a hurry. The cashiers will provide the release date and a receipt for claiming.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">4. Info encoding.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-papers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://w3bsite.net/blog/img/passport-papers.jpg" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">We then proceed to the encoding area, signature and pictures are digitally taken as well as certain personal information will be saved in the database for printing.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">5. Claim passport.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">On December 26, 2011 I will have to come back one more time to claim my fresh passport!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There was never an issue with the processes, things went in smoothly on the paper transaction yet the security's priority system was an epic failure!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">If you don't have the patience to go through this type of inconvenience, I suggest you go on certain agencies instead.</span></div>
