Halo Halo Fever
When it is summer and the heat is up to the fullest, all everyone want to get into our tastebuds are those ice cold drinks, punch, shakes, softdrinks and etc. In the Philippines, there's this dessert which had been the hit when this season comes. James and I, both of us are fans of this ice treat and so here it is:
Oh yeah baby, this is what we call as Halo-halo, mix in english and this dessert is a mixture of shaved ice and some milk added with a variety of some fruits and other desserts like icecream and lecheflan too.
So the first halo-halo James and I ate this summer is from Le Petit Bonheur of Sta. Fe Bantayan when we visited the island for a team building. We stayed in Budyong beach and is just near those food houses. Second was in Mang Inasal in Shopwise Basak Branch, they offer a simple halo halo dessert with a wafer stick on it. The wafer stick was really good and their mix as well at the same time but there were only a few ingredients on it though.
Halo-Halo in a Plate at Le Petit Bonheur
Exhausted from the exposure of the heat of the great star, from Virgin Island the team immediately went out for some cold halo-halo ice cream at the marketplace. The place where we stayed during the Bantayan Island Team Building, Budyong Beach Resort is just a walk away from Sta. Fe's public market so it is very easy to find goods or food if one didn't bring any goodies to the island.
We gone to Le Petit Bonheur Bar and Restaurant for their special Halo-halo ice cream worth Php 95.
The place was cool because of the beautifully designed covered tables and unique seats. And while waiting for our halo-halo, we took the chance to have some pictures taken in the area.
Time out at Ice Castle's
One of the most famous sport games here in the Philippines is Basketball, almost every guy, boy even some of the girls play this sport. Basket rings can be seen in almost all the street corners, on fiestas and grand celebrations, there are leagues and even if there are no occasions, guys team up and play basketball.
Most of our partners in Planetbiz are boys, they set a date for a monthly game and for this November, we went to Day-as Gym last night, that's November 7, 2010, for a two hour game. Even if most of us were late, the game kept going on. The girls served as courtesy booths of the boys' properties and we as well cheered for them. The game started at 6:00pm and ended at 8:00pm.

There were no water vending machines there so everyone were all thirsty and hungry so we decided to go to Ice Castle in Rain Tree Mall Branch. James and I didn't have supper yet that time so instead of ordering deserts right away, we ordered Pork Belly for me and Chicken Strips for James.

The chicken strips were not that good, it costs Php 95. We only tasted the flour and there was like zero chicken. However, the Pork Belly was very good and it costs Php 90, there were two pieces and I immediately ate them. Oh! I also had gave James some, its not like I am a "matakaw" girl.
Halo halo special for Php 68
When I am done eating, I ordered their Halo halo Special. It costs Php 68 and it was good. I have eaten Ice Castle's Halo halo Special a lot of times and it still tastes good. This even tastes much better when friends are there too.
