My Pulsing Eyelids

my eyes :)
Have you ever experienced this kind of feeling where in your eyelids tend to pulse involuntarily every now and then?

Well, I was kinda scared because my lower left eyelid has been pulsing constantly for almost two weeks now. Everyday, I would feel it pulse at a time then it disappears and then starts pulsing again. It's intermittent and is very annoying.

I can't seem to find any reasons why it is doing it so i asked my colleagues if they have any idea what is happening here. Some say it happens when you are tired or stressed. I of course believed them and so I tried getting more sleep and make sure not to stress myself out. I tried that during the first week but then, there was no progress so I searched about it. I used the terms eyelids pulsing and best-friend Google showed me the answers.

Now I found out that the real culprit is caffiene and I guess it's kinda true because I had been drinking two to three cups of coffee during my entire shift almost two months now. That makes it 15 cups of coffie per week, excluding the coffee I drink at home which usually range from one to two cups. I guess I have to minimize it or shall I say stop drinking it.

When Colds Attack

Colds is my greatest enemy next to getting a cough. Reasons?

photo from www.scientificamerican.com
One. I hate sniffing it in again and again. Even if I have to blew it out, it seemed to have a stream of those sticky stuff. Two. Because of sniffing or blowing, my nose gets red and when I say red, it means really really red. Three. For some reasons my eyes would start crying and this results to swollen eyes. Four, I don't really like it when I am on a public area and I began sneezing, it's embarrassing.

I blame this to the Ceres bus which we rode going to Cebu last Thursday because the air conditioning was real damn cold and that James and I were not even wearing jackets. We had to share the thin small piece of a sarong I brought with me to cover my hair. But that is just my assumption, what really is it's cause?

According to Wikipedia:
The common cold (also known as nasopharyngitis, acute viral rhinopharyngitis, acute coryza, or a cold) (Latin: rhinitis acuta catarrhalis) is a viral infectious disease of the upper respiratory system, caused primarily by rhinoviruses and coronaviruses. Common symptoms include a cough, sore throat, runny nose, and fever. There is currently no known treatment that shortens the duration; however, symptoms usually resolve spontaneously in 7 to 10 days, with some symptoms possibly lasting for up to three weeks.

Taking A Bath Right After Eating Is Dangerous To Your Digestive System???

For so long, I have been wondering if this is true or not. James says it is true because in doing so, there is some kind of delays in digesting the food that you have taken in.  His former Italian boss believes on it, he is a boxer and a swimmer at the same time. On the other hand, my mom doesn't actually believe it's bad and I had lived my life taking shower after eating my meal without feeling something not normal.

I tried searching on the internet to end my doubts but I ended up more confused. Some say it isn't actually bad at all, it may be a myth or something, most say it is just a folk belief but others say something about the digestive track which will be affected when we take a bath and causes the indigestion. Now, this needs medical explanation ASAP!

Before confronting a doctor or any medically inclined individual, I decided to ask some my friends and some of my colleagues as well.

Tanya:
"My lola advises me about it too, but I would still take a bath after eating, so far everything's good."

Is Taking a Bath Without Sleep Bad?

My grandparents and so as James have been telling me since then not to take a bath when I don't have any sleep because that causes eye problems but I am a hard headed woman and instead of following them, I would go straight to the bathroom and take a shower.  I would sometimes feel guilty doing it when they are all concerned about my health. I never had time to search for its effect on the internet until today so I want to share my research to you guys, guess someone else might have been curious about it as well.
from wiki.answers: No, its not bad. Just don't use cold or hot as your temperature for the water. Make sure you shower with warm water.

from yahoo answers, this is actually chosen by the voters as the best answer:
Taking a bath is a way of letting your muscles and nerves relax, its really the best therapy for a tired and drugged out body, make sure you dont stay in to long tho, especially, since you say youve done without sleep for awhile. It can relax you enough to put you to sleep right away, Just try it and see!

this is kinda funny answer, still from yahoo answers:
No, so long as you don't fall asleep and drown in the tub.

I did try to search for answers about it on some medical sites but for some reasons, there are no results for that search phrase. So I am assuming that there's no evidence that would actually prove that it is bad to take a bath when you don't have enough sleep.

Alright then to my granma, grandpa and James, I know you are just concern about me guys and my health too, thanks and I love you but it's okay honey... It's safe, you can try it too! Hehe...

Taho causes Hepatitis?

This morning after work, I bought Php 5 worth of taho in front of the building and my colleague told me that the thing that I was eating can cause Hepatitis; I was stopped at once and doubted to finish the half full glass but I just finished it anyway but I kept in mind that I will do a research regarding that.

When I reached home, I started to do the thing. I went to google and typed in soya + hepatitis, it came up with 3,420,000 results in less than 0.27 second, quite fast wasn’t it? I started opening the first five links.

First link was from the U.S. National Library of Medicine National Institute of Health or Pubmed.gov see article here. They had performed a case-control study about the consumption of miso soup and other soya foods to those who were pathologists-confirmed cases of HCC (hepatocellular carcinom) or in our terms, Hepatitis. For two years, they had seen the difference between those who consume miso soup and other soya foods to those who do not. They concluded that the consumption of soya foods may reduce HCC risk actually.

Another citation is on the Hepatitis Neighborhood website with the header line of the post as “Eating Soy May Ease Liver Cancer Risk, Claim Scientists.” In this post, I had then concluded to myself that what my colleague told me was all a myth. No soya or the taho food that I ate can’t cause Hepa or any sort of liver disorder but rather can actually avoid one to having such dreaded sickness. They actually had stated that adding soy to our diet may be the key to keeping liver cancer at a distance. Read article here.

There are more references to prove that taho can’t cause hepatitis, I don’t have the luxury of time to read through all of them but one thing for sure, I will definitely eat taho as much as I can starting tomorrow and I will also share this to my family, friends and loved-ones.

We should be conscious of what we are eating so we may be alarmed to the advantages and disadvantages of those kinds of foods.
