Me Hearts Korean Drama: Lady Castle

I finished watching Lady Castle aka My Fair Lady today,  another korean drama, I started watching it last monday and glad I got to finish it three days after though I still have work. The truth is, I sleep 4-5 hours a day only because of this drama, well that's all sleep I could actually get if I have work but if I am on rest day, I can sleep all day long. The good thing is I can watch it at work using our simulation units but not too often since there are managers around. Teehee!

So what is this Lady Castle all about? Here is a citation from Wikipedia:
Kang Hye-na, the only successor of Kang-san Group, is the owner of the ‘Lady Castle’ and lives a ‘princess-like’ life with her servants. Hye-na’s parents died from a plane accident and her grandfather brought her up. Hye-na is strong-headed and selfish, whose world revolves around her because she could not experience the warmth of a family whilst growing up. One day, she comes across Dong-chan when she is carelessly driving and knocks into Dong-chan's truck in which he is shipping flowers. She knocks out a bunch of flowers from his truck so Dong-chan goes to complain. She refuses to apologise but just gives him money. She drives away although Dong-chan isn't satisfied. He chases after her and eventually cuts her of at the end of a road. Kang Hye-na ignores this and just drives straight into his truck. As a consequence of this he makes Hye-na do community service, kidnaps her, and appears in front of her as the new household manager. Hye-na makes every effort to throw him out from the Castle, but Dong-chan refuses to budge.

Colgate Plax: Going Gaga over Gargling

Fact: 80% of germs are actually not on your teeth.
I can't imagine this but reality bites. I become paranoid when it comes to my breath. I am conscious about it and that's why I wouldn't last a day with an incomplete oral hygiene, this includes 2-3 times brushing of teeth and of course, gargling. I do it with salt water as well as with an antiseptic mouthwash, I used to gargle twice or three times a day too because also of the my work nature where I have to speak all night long. This results to buying more and more bottles per month.

But thanks to this new Colgate Plax, I won't have to spend more amount for gargling because one gargle is definitely enough with its powerful antibacterial mouth rinse. Less "gastos"  with a fresh breath that lasts up to 12 hours and helps prevent gingivitis build up because it kills those germs that are hard to reach with merely brushing. And the most important thing, it is recommended by the Philippine Dental Association Council of Dental Product.

So to my friends out there who are just like me, grab a Colgate Plax now and never worry with your breath anymore. Whether you're just talking with your crush or getting that first kiss, fresh breath with Colgate Plax will never let you down.

And just for fun, Colgate had come up with a very funny Gloo Gloo application which can simulate the gargling action. All you have to do is to upload a photo of yourself at the Colgate Plax website, define areas for gargling and share it to your friends. This was really cool and I had uploaded my photo of course while laughing the whole time.

Sweet Crepes in SM Cebu

While James and I were checking for the most affordable yet has good quality LED monitor for my defective laptop, we accidentally bumped into this small stall in front of Forty Winks, Dermclinic and TreveƱos in SM North Wing. They sell these yummy looking crepes so we decided to step in and eat even if we were not yet hungry. The stall's name is Rock 'n Roll Crepes.

Check the samples that they have right on their stall which made me very confused while choosing on what to order. We just went in and want to order for the sake of curiosity. I ended up letting James choose the order instead.

Prices start at Php 70 to Php 90, which I find very affordable.

Old West Cowboy Experience at Garden Cafe

One of the restaurants I would love to visit in Tagbilaran City is Garden Cafe because of it's uniqueness. My first and last visit was when I was still in grade school, my cousin in law brought me there and I couldn't forget the experience. Reason? Because they have mute and deaf waitresses and crews which made the place the most silent restaurant I had been to ever.

Glad James and I came to the restaurant accidentally last week before we went back to Cebu. It was nine in the evening, while we were roaming around Tagbilaran City, we accidentally passed along the said resto. I hopped in happiness because I had been longing to get there. Though our ship's departure time was at 10pm, we still went in and ordered our meals. Unfortunately, we were not able to take photographs of our orders which we just took out because we were running out of time already and the camera had ran out of battery also, BOOO! BTW, I ordered Aloha Burger, it has beef patty with pineapple for Php 65, really good! James had his B roasted Chicken Meal for Php 110 and a Mango Pie for Php 35.

And while our order was taken cared of, we took advantage of the very little time taking photographs of the place. Garden Cafe is an old west cowboy restaurant and museum at the same time so most of the decorations are about cowboys and vintage stuff.

How Hard is it to Give?

It's 67 days before Christmas and because it has been known as the season for giving, children are seen asking for money after singing Christmas carols in the streets or inside jeepneys. Actually, they are already present as early as September, Filipinos has the longest Christmas season in the world. In the cities like Cebu city, this has been a trend and has been a headache for most commuters.

Some would give but majority of the passengers will just ignore them. This is because there teenagers who are taking advantage of this act. Eversince before, each single time that I would give a peso or two to these street children, somebody from among the passangers would negatively react.

Earlier today, I went to the office for some urgent matter. When the PUV stopped  at the red light, a half naked skinny boy about seven or eight years of age, came over and sung a tagalog christmas song. I was just near the entrance of the vehicle so it was easy for me to give a peso. Just as soon as the boy disappeared, a woman of her thirties sarcastically commented about the act.

She said, "Dili dapat hatagan ng mga in ana nga bata kay ila ra na isugal." (We should not give to those children because they will just use the money for gambling.)

Review: Startech Repair Shop

My laptop's LCD is currently having some issues, for some unknown reasons, it's just totally black. I can remotely access it which proves that it is still perfectly working however, the screen isn't promising. The problem started last week when I noticed that the screen's color was light red when I turned it on from a sleep mode. At first, I just disregarded it since it cleared out after a while. Then I noticed it starts flickering. I turned it off, thinking that the tablet T2100 (my laptop model name) may be undergoing some stress. When I turned it back on after a couple of hours, the same problem persists. I started panicking, I started thinking this might be the end of it's life after rendering her service for three years. Then the worse thing came up, it stopped working. It doesn't have any signs of a picture of anything on the screen. Good thing I was able to install the logmein app on it. It's a free app which can let you remotely access your pc. I will talk about it on the next post.

There were two things I had in mind, either to purchase a separate LED monitor or to have it fixed which may end up replacing her screen. But it took me four days to finally bring it to a technician because of the fact that I was also busy and I am still canvassing for a cheaper repair fee. My brother's laptop has an issue too so I brought it along with me.

I ended up going to Emall (Elizabeth Mall) in Sanciangko street. I went to this small corner where a lot of laptops and monitors are located. I learned that their group is called Startech.

Buko King Makes Bohol Proud

Just when we thought singing and dancing are the only talents Filipinos are well-known of, then wait until you finish watching this video below.

Done?

See what I am talking about? The truth is, there are two things that I am proud of base on the video above. First is of course, I am proud with our Kababayan who had gone to Germany because of his peculiar talent. Felipe Tacogdoy, fondly called by the villagers as "Pepeng" or "Nong Pepeng" for those who are younger than him is a pure Boholano and earns a living as a Buko opener.

Farewell Steve!

(February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011)

Who would have thought the day after the  'Lets Talk iPhone' event could be Steve Jobs' final day?

Nobody had thought of it, though every one knows he is very ill, he had a very serious health issues. He had gone to soon that no one had expected it to happen immediately. He had resigned from his company, Apple a few weeks ago and publicly announced about his illness. Now, he has just left his family and his company as well as all of those Apple fans.

Free Scrapbooks Update

Oh yeah!

After more than a year, I was able to change my freescrapbooks blog's background and header images. If you haven't been to that blog yet, then please do it now because the blog gives you free stuff like clip arts, scrapbook sets and photo templates. All of the things that I post there is free, out of charge and I give them away without any copyrights. Yes, you read it right, all for free. Hmm, let me give you a background about that site then. It goes like this, I am an art lover, I used to do the traditional scrapbook since grade school. I have collections of those old ones way back at home in Bohol but never really had let others see them because they are like crap and maybe others will never find interest on those so they were more of like private viewing, for my eyes only! Teehee.

So when I reach college, I started learning about Adobe Photoshop because it was a requirement as an IT student. BTW, I studied college in Cebu Institute of Technology, known as CIT-University today. I graduated last 2009, that's two years ago. So to make the long story short, I had switch from the traditional scrapbooking to the digital one, well my works aren't that good though but I thought it would be nice to place it somewhere in the web since its intangible and I can share it to the others who would get interested with it too. And the rest is history, it's a year old and here I am trying to innovate it, I don't think that's a great term but just be it.
