Final Splash Before Summer '12 Ends at Cordova Home Village

A whole week being exhausted with work, over pressured with stats and metrics and too tired of taking calls made me dream of staying up in a resort with a glass of mango shake at hand, enjoying the beautiful view of the whole place with James and friends around.

Since I started working for specific account, I had been having nightmares of me taking calls even during the day, of customers who are always irate and demanding. I so miss my old account though but I know I need to move on. And so just a few days before summer 2012 ends, me and my coleague friends came to this magnificient resort in Cordova, Lapulapu City named Cordova Home Village to relax and free our minds from work stress.
It is one of a kind resort because compared to all the other resorts I visited so far in Cebu, it has the most serene and lovely atmosphere. The pool waters is clean and inviting, the grounds saw no spot of any trash, just dry leaves spread on it's soil, slides long enough for a child to take on and cheap cottages affordable for the a set of friends.

The only bad side I guess is that it is very far from the Cebu city proper. But I bet everyone who had gone there would never regret visiting the area, instead would surely love to come back again just like two of my friends who has visited it three times in a month!

Aside from the great amenities, they also have a taste of nature in there. They have a lot of fishes on two of their ponds, aside from that they have four huge turtles and huge animal figures too, birds and dogs as well. What's very cool about those animal figures is that you can take a ride on them. While some resorts would only place figures for viewing only, CHV placed them for their guests to take a ride on them too! In fact, they placed steps on them so one can easily take a ride. They have trees and plants all with their corresponding names posted on them which I found really good so that people can recognize them easily.

Me Hearts Korean Drama: Spellbound

It has been ages since I last watched a Korean movie and I am so glad I got to watch one last weekend. I downloaded this movie I saw on one of my Facebook friends’ wall post entitled “Spellbound”, a romantic horror movie with a blend of comedy. I am not really a fan of horror movies because whenever I watch one, I can’t help but shout at scary scenes, James became annoyed with my ear aching scream and wouldn't watch anything scary with me. But since this film has a blend of comedy and romance, I had the guts to get my eyes on it.

The story is all about a girl named Yu-Ri who had been hunted by ghosts since high school after surviving a terrible accident where her best friend died. Her family left her and her friends turns their backs from her, since then she has been living alone and lonely until she met a street magician called Yo-Goo.  Yo-Goo noticed her while performing because she never smiled the entire show; he followed her and was mystified by her presence. He then thought of an idea while following Yu-Ri, he asked her to be a part of that idea which hit the market and soon, Yo-Goo became famous of his terrific show where he will drive out a ghost from a closet, the ghost points her killer and chooses one of the audience who will be taken inside the closet afterwards as a part of their magic trick.

Yu-Ri performs as the ghost in the show and it has been years since they tried convincing her to join them for dinner but she kept on refusing until that point where Yo-Goo insisted and Yu-Ri had no other choice but to join them. She became drunk after dinner and for some reasons ripped off Yo-Goo’s shirt. Because of the incident, Yu-Ri called Yo-Goo to ask for apology but during their conversation, Yu-Ri screamed because she saw her dead friend over the window. Yo-Goo was very worried that he went to Yu-Ri’s house to check how she was doing when he himself saw a ghost boy outside Yu-Ri’s house. This boy followed him at his house and from then on, he has been seeing ghosts too and learned how Yu-Ri’s life story.

Forty Five Months

If there’s one thing that never gets missed in every occasion, then that is FOOD!

And since last Wednesday, May 24, 2012, James and I celebrated our three years and nine months relationship, we took time over cooking and eating all by ourselves. This is not an anniversary celebration; this is just how we do appreciate every month of love. Though we both have works that day, we made sure we can give each other time to celebrate true love.

We had set it to be during lunch and we set for just one single recipe, Chicken adobo, my favorite. I am a loser when it comes to cooking yet a winner at eating but so glad James is on my back to get the cooking part. Teehee.

And since I can’t do the cooking, I then bought the ingredients myself and here’s how they were when mixed.

Chinese Dragon Bit Me at Ding Qua Qua

ding qua qua JY Lahug Cebu
For our wave 60 team’s anniversary we decided to dine at Ding Qua Qua in JY Square Lahug. I haven’t heard much about it though but basing on its name, I can tell that it is a dimsum kind of eatery and I was not wrong.

Ding qua qua opens at six in the evening and closes at ten every day, buffet costs you Php 210 without drinks. You can order bottomless drinks for only Php 45 and they also have their milk tea for Php 45 too!

The food was not that extraordinary actually, in fact I only ate what I had on my plate and didn’t go for another round anymore. The milk tea had made me full after eating all of the orient pearls on it. But for a buffet meal at Php 210, it is all worth it.

I was attracted by the wall painting of the famous Great Wall of China and how the lights added nice effect to the ambiance.

We're Three Years Now

Officially, I had just spent three long years in call center last May 11, 2012. Oh I can’t believe I am still in this work field and I guess I am staying. But this post is not just about my experience but about my wave-mate’s whole three-year experience as well. The previous year, we came up with a lunch date at Pino Restaurant while this time, we decided for dinner at Ding Qua Qua in JY Square Lahug.

Unlike before, only a few of the original wave 60 team showed up, made me think the others are now busy with their lives but overall it was still fun. Daryl, Mercy, Ate Dyreen, Reggy, TL Michelle along with Tittah came though Tittah was not really a part of our team, he was invited by Daryl and I tagged James too! As usual, we started the whole night with eating at six then laughing and waiting for the others. I was super glad Ate Dyreen came, she looks young as usual and I just learned she is just working at home now. We were kidding her to get a baby as soon as possible so she could get a company at home, she just laughed.

Mercy is still the same happy-go-lucky lad, she has this pure, innocent laugh and you’ll get amazed by how fast she talks. I appreciated her time attending the date even though she has a duty at nine. I had a great time catching up with her, I guess the last time we met was the previous lunch date too with the team. I also learned from her that she is now living alone, she was under her aunt’s roof the last time and I am glad she is now living independently, soo love this gal.

I Attended GNHS Alumni Homecoming

GNHS Alumni Homecoming
The 2012 Guinacot National High School Alumni Homecoming was indeed a success! It was a three day event which started with a grand motorcade last May 4, 2012. Since I was still on my way from Cebu via Getafe, I was not able to catch up with the motorcade however, I got to see my batch mates later the afternoon.

Though we were only a few, it didn't stop us from having fun, catching up with each lives and of course reminiscing our high school life. It was indeed an event worth spending and I wished all the others were able to get to join the reunion as well but I understand they have their own reasons why they were unable to join the event, anyway there will still be next times.

Cebu To Bohol Via Getafe

Had a funny experience last Friday going to Bohol, it was my first time going to bohol via Getafe. Now just for your information, Getafe is a town after Talibon and is just a 45 minute travel from Cebu via a fastcraft.

Getafe Bohol
Here's the story, I logged out of work at seven morning last Friday, went to Jollibee with Jsames for breakfast and rode a cab to Cebu City's port number three. It was already eight when we reached the ticket booth for Starcraft bound for Tubigon. Was a bit frustrated and disappointed because I missed the 8:30 schedule, said it is already fully booked. Since I can't do anything about it, I went ahead to the waiting area and patiently waited for 10:30 boat. While sitting alone (James went back immediately due to a stomach ache) a woman of her forties spoke to me about the travel schedules. She had just exchanged her ticket from via Tubigon to via Jetafe because the latter departs earlier and she was like inviting me to do the same. I talked to her for awhile out of courtesy until I realized that Getafe is actually after Talibon and Talibon is just a few hours to Ubay and that means it's nearer my town.

I jumped off my seat and went on asking how I could possibly change my tickets too. Good thing the Getafe craft don't have that much passengers and the person in charge allowed me to just get into the boat without changing tickets. Happy me!!!

Now the surprise didn't end there actually because when the fast craft started sailing it's butt off, it had also played the avengers movie. Yeah I know it's not yet on DVD but you know how pirates work right? So though the copy doesn't have a 10/10 quality as well as its audio, I was still keenly watching it. I love to see the actions you know. Unfortunately, we reached Getafe at ten so that was an hour of travelling and I didn't finish the movie which was a bummer. I swear I would get a copy of that movie with subs in the future.
