Gaisano Capital Fire Burned

Just learned that the Gaisano Capital has been burned down when I was on my way to Bohol because the smoke coming from the burned building was obviously visible from where I was sitting inside the Supercat vessel.

Thinking about the employees and the people who work for the said mall made me sad. It was two days before Christmas and the terrible thing happened. I wonder how they felt about it and how they spent their Christmas knowing that they don't have work anymore. That isn't a cool Christmas present after all.

There were rumors that the Gaisano Capital management had intentionally burned the said building. I couldn't really comment but there were sayings that the building is ensured to three insurance companies and that burning it down won't affect their income.

Jojie's Painitang Bol-anon

Going back to work from a vacation means bringing home a "pasalubong". Pasalubong is any gift or souvenir brought for a family, loved ones or friends after being away for a period of time.

For almost three years, I would always buy Calamay or Peanut Kisses as pasalubong to my colleagues whenever I go home for vacation. For those who are not familiar with the two, Calamay is a sticky sweet famous delicacy of Bohol, it has been famous because of it is distinctively sold inside halved smooth coconut shells, but nowadays, this has been sold in plastic containers also for convenience. Peanut Kisses on the other hand is made from peanuts and egg whites shaped like miniature Chocolate Hills, the famous tourist spot in the island.

My Parents' 29th Wedding Anniversary

A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person. - Mignon McLaughlin
I am but proud that ma and pa had reached this point, indeed having Christ in the center of a marriage is essential for it to nourish and stay healthy and in love always. Last December 23, 2011, my parents just celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary. That was the same day that I went back to Bohol because of course of the said celebration.

Though there were a lot of passengers, I am thankful I was able to get my round trip tickets via Supercat. I would always love to travel with this vessel because though the price is a bit high, the service is extremely nice. We met at Bohol Quality mall as soon as I arrived and before going home, I bought a Choco Caramel Cake from BQ's bakeshop.

Fully Booked on Christmas Season

What I don't like a bit about Holidays is the rush for seats on boats, ships or fast crafts. If you working away from home like me, celebrating Christmas alone away from the family would surely be devastating. In my experience, I was unable to go home for Christmas for the two previous years because of work demand. It's good to know that for this year, I won't be spending it alone anymore. My vacation leave requests have been approved for December 23 and 26 so I will be home from then.

However, it's not an assurance that one can get home as soon as you want. There will be problems like fully booked boats and weather change. There was a recent storm which hit the country and which had caused a severe damage to the country. I am referring to the storm named Sendong. Of course you must have known about that killer storm. Anyway, these are just matters we can't handle and we can't do anything about it.

Our KFC Bucket Attitude Moment

This is a late post actually however, I want to share how I love KFC SM Branch's new and younger vibe. I have indeed experience a new atmosphere in there. My friends and colleagues love KFC because of their cheap yet yummy Chicken Steak and of course the look and feel inside the said place.

My eyes can't get enough of the collage designed on the walls of the restaurant. I love the new KFC and the service was extremely faster compared before. We placed our orders at the counter area and were given with our own priority numbers. There's an LCD screen which will display the specific order numbers once it is available and ready for pick up. I had observed that this is a much faster and efficient way of serving the customers. Above all, what I really do love about it is the fact that anyone can take either solo photo of themselves or with the group because KFC has a new photo both just inside the dining area. So while still waiting for our orders, we stepped out and take a photo of us first.

My Christmas Presents Ready

Here are the gifts I purchased way before and a couple of days ago and were finished wrapping yesterday. I am happy I could share my blessings to those people I love. I have gifts for my godchildren as well and of course for my little niece, Aiesha. There are still a couple of people whom I haven't bought gifts yet, I will try to buy something for them before I go home in December 23. Well, hopefully I could get to do it while still able to manage my time with work and sleep.

Merry Christmas to everyone in advance. I know we think of gift giving when we talk about Christmas but I pray that each of us will be reminded of the right reason why there is Christmas.

Help Sendong's Victims

I bet you have heard of what our fellow Filipinos from Iligan, Cagayan De Oro and Dumaguete are experiencing right now. I know you have watched, read or even heard of advertisements or postings about helping our brothers and sisters. I don't want to post pictures that may make us cry but I would like you to know that our kababayans are in deep need right now.

Sendong had caused flash floods which had taken hundreds of lives and had left bruises, scars and wounds to those family members who lost loved ones. I believe that there is a reason why this had happened, I strongly believe that God has seen all these things and He is faithful enough to heal those wounds and give us hope.

Steps on How to Activate Facebook Timeline

The new Facebook timeline gives your Facebook page a more "magazine-like" feel and will tell the story of your life. - Mark Zuckerberg.

Aha! Since September, Facebook users have been going gaga about this new profile look and feel, yet they or shall I say we never waited for the release date instead, forced ourselves and found ways on converting the personal profile to be one. I won't deny liking it's lay out and I love the thought of having a customized profile header or cover instead. In fact, I have also shared how I converted my facebook profile to the new timeline before. Those who were techy and a bit pursuant in giving their profiles the new vibe paved their ways for the new timeline while the others patiently wait.

SSS Is Surprisingly Fast!

I went to the Social Security Service office last November 21, 2011 to update my incorrect SSS information  and the lady officer informed me that I have to wait for a month  for the changes to take effect. In my head, I thought a month is very long for just one info to be updated though I already know a lot of Filipino citizens might have been going through the same issue.

So today, even if it wasn't a month long yet I tried logging into my online SSS account. Surprisingly, my last name seemed to be changed already! From Butihan, now it's Butihen, my mom would be happy once she knows about this. Hooray!!! SSS seemed to be fast now. I wonder if this has been already updated weeks before. Anyway, this is actually great news!

Oslob Style Carol Over Dumaguete's Buko Pie

Last weekend, right after we bought some groceries from Fooda Mambaling branch, we went straight to Oslob because it was their town fiesta. It was like months when I last went there and I was kinda excited because I will be seeing my godchild, Shaika (guess I have introduced her to you before).

It was a bummer because I slept early on Saturday night so I was not able to roam around the town during it's feast day. They said there was a live band disco that night but I stay lying in bed the whole night, I woke up at three in the morning having a feeling that it was still seven in the evening.

Fooda Saversmart Mambaling Branch Opening Experience

Fooda Saversmart just opened today, December 10, 2011 and since the mart is just a few blocks away from where I live, I went there with James and tagged his younger sister also. As expected, the place was very crowded. The area was not that big though especially the cashier part that the lines were too long it had covered the grocery items. We were having trouble with getting the cocktails because it was over crowded by a cart full of junked foods.

The spaces between the carts and the grocery items were too narrow that it was impossible for one to move from one spot to another. And newly arrived customers would be very disappointed because they can't get to the items in the front part.

Bad Azule Bite His New Friend

Today we welcomed a new pair of guppy fish and a white female fighting fish. The lady at the pet shop said the guppies are safe with Azule. Without any negative thinking, we placed all four of them inside the bowl with their new home since we bought a new artificial rock with weeds on it and colorful pebbles too which made the bowl aquarium pretty clear and lively.

Unfortunately, something bad happened. We were merrily watching the four of them when Azule attacked the male guppy and bite its tail. Good thing we were there and took Azule away from the poor guppy. Now the male guppy could hardly swim, he is very pitiful and I wish I have not placed it with Azule. I felt sorry thinking about it and realized Azule should be grounded by not giving him food but I can't stop myself feeding him.

SPX Christmas Party 2011 at Mountain View

December is my second favorite month of year because parties and gift giving is happening all month long, I find it really pleasing to my eyes. In line with that, our team just had our Christmas party yesterday. I know its very early knowing it's still the first week of the December. It was intentionally planned this way because of the drastic changes that our account is experiencing right now.

See most of the team mates are going to another account next week and that made the party that early. The truth is that our team had gone through some emotional challenges because of the transfer that had happen, most of the people who were transferred are those who had been with the account for more than five years. They had already considered the account as their second home and it was really painful leaving the support. It had become their comfort zones, though it was really unacceptable they got no other choice than to leave and move on. Change is really inevitable especially in this type of job, I am just blessed that I was not included in the transfer.

James' Cool Acer Aspire One D257

I can sense that December will be very good to me and to James as well. Yesterday, I received my first Christmas gift and named him Azule, he is a blue fighting fish and then today, James got his first Christmas gift in a form of a gadget. He just purchased a new Acer Aspire One D257 today at SM City Cebu Cyberzone.

It's has been weeks since we started hunting for the best net book which will suit our preferences and needs. Today, that has been put to an end since at last, James had found the one for him. Blue has been our theme color for this month and so, he purchased the blue one. The truth is, we never thought about it until we realized after buying.

Azule: My New Fighting Fish Pet

Today, I have just received a blessing. It's the birth of a new member of the family and I am so happy having him. Since before, I want to have a pet, something which is easy to take care of and not too costly. I am glad that finally, I was able to get one. It's indeed a joyful way of welcoming December, my second favorite month of the year next to my birth month, January.

So, without further a do, I would like to introduce to you my fighting fish pet Azule. The truth is, I don't know if Azule is a boy or a girl but since his color is blue then I would consider him as a boy and his name is obviously because of his color. Azule, exaggerated word for asul, a Filipino term equivalent to blue. He is my first Christmas gift!

So why did I choose fish?

Palm 8 Goes Magical

To eight years and more!

One of our account managers had mentioned this last night during our account's eight anniversary party which was amazing because it's Fairytale Cosplay them. The party was held at Fort San Pedro and to feel the magic, most of the agents went to the party with their own wonderfully made costumes. There were fairies, Walt Disney fairy tale characters like Jasmine and Cinderella, movie characters like Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Sparrow and Wonder woman herself as well,Japanese anime Sakura of Card Captor Sakura and even more.

The event started at almost seven, it was a special celebration since one of our clients made it to the party, there were couple of Webos Phones given to the agents which was one of the awaited parts. Thre were lots of food varieties unfortunately, I didn't like them much. They were just so-so. I didn't even finish what was in my plate. Good thing the deserts were there to fill up my stomach, specially the mango crepe though it was not that good compared to SM's Rock n' Roll Crepes.

How to Get PhilHealth ID Card

I went to PhilHealth office the same day right after I finished changing my incorrect SSS member data.

I was hesitant to go to the Philhealth office since I didn't know its location; all I knew was that it is just in front of the old SSS office. So from the SSS office, I rode a PUJ with route code 14D, I reached Golden Peak Hotel where the Philhealth office is situated.

The Cebu office is just a small space compared to SSS', there were a number of people inside already though it was still 8:20 in the morning. I immediately approached the front desk and ask what to do about getting a PhilHealth card. The gentleman gave me a priority number and a request slip for PhilHealth Identification card where one needs to write down his or her surname, given name, middle name PhilHealth Identification Number (PIN) which I don't know what and your signature over printed name.

How To Update Incorrect SSS Name

Cebu City SSS office

This Monday has been a busy and long day for me, I woke up as early as 1 o'clock in the morning. I watched a movie and as promised, prepared to go to SSS (Social Security Service) office. Tanya and I agreed to meet at the site at 5am.

Tanya arrived earlier so she had reserved a spot for me in the line which raised the other people's eyebrows, teehee. I was late with our agreed time, I reached the office at 6:10. Gladly, I didn't have to wait for a long time since the guards had already opened the office at 6:30 anyway, we had a little chat about how the Breaking Dawn movie came out.

Since I came to update my SSS records, we have to separate and fall in different lines. I actually have an incorrect middle name, thanks to our municipal registrar who had typed it incorrectly but it was already been updated and NSO authenticated, click here to know how I changed it.

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn First Part

The Twilight Saga has been a hit in the cinemas for over years and so the final chapter started with a first part last November 18, 2011. I am not too into twilight as much as I am with Vampire Diaries because of many reasons, one is because Damon Salvatore is just better than Edward Cullen, IMHO though. But I still watch the saga series since the first chapter and I also purchase its collectible stuffs just like the Limited Twilight Tumblers from Jollibee

And so yesterday, November 19, 2011 Philippine time, James and I together with my colleagues finally watched the said movie. Thanks to Ayala Cinema's sureseats, we never have to wait for that long lines to get our tickets. Cathy had already requested it online conveniently thru their website, sureseats.com and all we did at the Ayala Cinemas was to wait for 6:35pm. Since ASAP Rocks also had a show before the movie, we attempted to take a look but we were just so unfortunate that we reach Ayala Terraces with thousands of ASAP fans all over the area. We only saw Marky Strome, the G-Force and Bugoy Drillon from a far. Worse was when we were on out way to the cinema, we almost experience stampede. Anyway, we were still lucky we came out of the crowd safe.

Missing Government IDs

While my colleagues are chatting on gbuzz about our twilight saga The breaking Dawn part 1 movie schedule today we had gone to the ID topic without knowing how. I soon realized that I don't have any government ID at all, I can't really consider my driver's license as one because of I-can't-tell reasons.

One of my colleagues told me that those identification cards are really important most specially if you are traveling and that was my turning point. I then thought of why I don't have any IDs at all except for my company ID. I didn't bother securing those IDs since after all I can't really get out of the country due to my DOST scholarship. I realized I was actually wrong, I should have exerted effort getting those but then I thought, I actually had tried once.

I recalled that time when I was going through the process of correcting my middle name, I was required to provide supporting documents and one of the few was voter's id. I don't have one so I immediately went to our town's Commission on Elections' office and I won't forget what the personnel told me, he said that only a few voters are given those cards, unfortunately I am not one of them. This is unacceptable but what can I do? I asked for reasons, they said that's how it really works, wow! I was surprised! Is it because the Philippine Government has been really poor that it can't provide cards for every voter? I felt discriminated of course. In the end, I went home with the certified-true-copy application for registration instead.

Singapore Souvenirs

Aside from being an amazingly clean and beautiful country, Singapore has become a hub for the call center agents I had known from my recent company. Every agent or colleague that I had come to talk with dream to go and work in this country. If not work, it has become the top most want-to-visit place and indeed they would certainly do what it takes to get there. Thanks to some airline seat sales, traveling to the neighboring countries isn't too hard now adays.

A number of my colleagues went on a three-day vacation last week to Singapore. They had the best time of their lives and funny how I didn't feel jealous. Okay I admit, I was slightly jealous. I want to travel as well but I don't have any budget for it yet. But then, I am happy that my colleague-slash-insurance agent friend went too! And because of that, I was able to receive not just one but two Singapore key chains! Hurray! Well, the other one is actually for James. I love it and I am super thankful to Mermer for the pasalubong.

Travel: Naga City

Because I won Simple Yet Rock's Level Up Giveaway Anniversary, I had the opportunity to visit Naga City where I would be claiming the Php 1000 prize. Naga City is just 30 minutes away from Cebu City if via mini bus but will take you more than an hour if via a jeep. I am not new to the city since I have been passing it every time James and I need to go to Oslob however, I haven't been able to visit the place. I am happy that I had the chance to visit it last weekend. Thanks to the changes made with my new work schedule and I am now able to enjoy my weekends.

At three o'clock, James and I rode on a mini bus going to Naga City which ran pretty fast and surprised when we stepped out because the old sports complex building is now the new Metro Market. Curious about how it looked inside, we went in and ate some snacks inside. The building is more of a grocery store but they also have some food stands inside, like most Metro Gaisano grocery stores.

We met Roxanne from Simple Yet Rock and claimed my prize as well. We had a little chat and since she is also on her way to SM, we bid our goodbyes and parted ways. We then took our time to enjoy the place. We didn't go any farther, we just focused on the main city itself. Here are the shots we took while roaming the area.

Me Hearts Korean Drama: Coffee Prince

Synopsis from wiki.d-addicts:
The life of Go Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is not easy; she works many jobs to pay off debts and even gave up her feminine image. Choi Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) is the heir of a big food company, but his grandmother wants him to settle down, so she arranged many dates for him. After Eun Chan bumped into Han Kyul and was mistaken for a boy, Han Kyul decided to hire Eun Chan to be his gay lover in order to avoid the arranged dates. Desperately in need of money, Eun Chan had no choice but to accept. Han Kyul's grandmother also made Han Kyul in charge of a filthy coffee shop in danger of being bankrupt. Eun Chan begged to work at the coffee shop, and not long after, feelings start to spark, except, how would Han Kyul accept his "homosexuality"?
I would say I had enjoyed this drama because of the characters and the story itself. Though the boy to boy situation was still common, the story had it's own uniqueness due to the environment and the cast who portrayed the characters. I like how they all had different personalities and how had complimented to it. Most specially the main cast, Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo.

Balut So Good!

How do you find the above photo? Is it looking good?

Most Filipinos are fond of eating this Asian cuisine called "balut" most specially during drinking sessions. I haven't eaten one for a long time already. When James and I were in Tagbilaran City last month and were taking photos at the port, a young man of age 12-13 came over while singing out loud "baluuuuut, baluuuut". I had no plans of eating one then but James was determined. That balut up there is just 16 days old from birth, notice the nerves and the black feathers? I can't consume this type of balut.

Actually, there are different kinds of commercial balut. It varies from 14 days old, 16 days old and18 days old as far as I know. I only eat the first kind because the head and it's feather's aren't developed yet compared to the rest. I couldn't remember when and where was the last time I ate one. The only thing I remember is that it costs Php 11 at that time. Amazingly, the price had risen up to Php 16.

For me, the soup inside the egg gives its flavor and it is my favorite part. Whenever I eat one, I would surely consume the soup first. It is most tasty when you add special vinegar (made by the vendor) and salt.

Me Hearts Korean Drama: Lie To Me

I was happy with how the drama went to so I looked up on some other series that Yoon Eun Hye had appeared too. Aside from Princess Hours and Coffee Prince (I never was able to finish it), I just realized that she had actually appeared in Lee Min Ho's Personal Taste as well. Anyway, I got intrigued with this drama titled Lie To Me where Eun-Hye was the main character and this is her latest drama so last Saturday night, no it was already Sunday dawn, without hesitation I started watching it and boy, how I loved the series. Want to ask me why, check the synopsis first from asianmediawiki.com:

Me Hearts Korean Drama: Lady Castle

I finished watching Lady Castle aka My Fair Lady today,  another korean drama, I started watching it last monday and glad I got to finish it three days after though I still have work. The truth is, I sleep 4-5 hours a day only because of this drama, well that's all sleep I could actually get if I have work but if I am on rest day, I can sleep all day long. The good thing is I can watch it at work using our simulation units but not too often since there are managers around. Teehee!

So what is this Lady Castle all about? Here is a citation from Wikipedia:
Kang Hye-na, the only successor of Kang-san Group, is the owner of the ‘Lady Castle’ and lives a ‘princess-like’ life with her servants. Hye-na’s parents died from a plane accident and her grandfather brought her up. Hye-na is strong-headed and selfish, whose world revolves around her because she could not experience the warmth of a family whilst growing up. One day, she comes across Dong-chan when she is carelessly driving and knocks into Dong-chan's truck in which he is shipping flowers. She knocks out a bunch of flowers from his truck so Dong-chan goes to complain. She refuses to apologise but just gives him money. She drives away although Dong-chan isn't satisfied. He chases after her and eventually cuts her of at the end of a road. Kang Hye-na ignores this and just drives straight into his truck. As a consequence of this he makes Hye-na do community service, kidnaps her, and appears in front of her as the new household manager. Hye-na makes every effort to throw him out from the Castle, but Dong-chan refuses to budge.

Colgate Plax: Going Gaga over Gargling

Fact: 80% of germs are actually not on your teeth.
I can't imagine this but reality bites. I become paranoid when it comes to my breath. I am conscious about it and that's why I wouldn't last a day with an incomplete oral hygiene, this includes 2-3 times brushing of teeth and of course, gargling. I do it with salt water as well as with an antiseptic mouthwash, I used to gargle twice or three times a day too because also of the my work nature where I have to speak all night long. This results to buying more and more bottles per month.

But thanks to this new Colgate Plax, I won't have to spend more amount for gargling because one gargle is definitely enough with its powerful antibacterial mouth rinse. Less "gastos"  with a fresh breath that lasts up to 12 hours and helps prevent gingivitis build up because it kills those germs that are hard to reach with merely brushing. And the most important thing, it is recommended by the Philippine Dental Association Council of Dental Product.

So to my friends out there who are just like me, grab a Colgate Plax now and never worry with your breath anymore. Whether you're just talking with your crush or getting that first kiss, fresh breath with Colgate Plax will never let you down.

And just for fun, Colgate had come up with a very funny Gloo Gloo application which can simulate the gargling action. All you have to do is to upload a photo of yourself at the Colgate Plax website, define areas for gargling and share it to your friends. This was really cool and I had uploaded my photo of course while laughing the whole time.

Sweet Crepes in SM Cebu

While James and I were checking for the most affordable yet has good quality LED monitor for my defective laptop, we accidentally bumped into this small stall in front of Forty Winks, Dermclinic and Treveños in SM North Wing. They sell these yummy looking crepes so we decided to step in and eat even if we were not yet hungry. The stall's name is Rock 'n Roll Crepes.

Check the samples that they have right on their stall which made me very confused while choosing on what to order. We just went in and want to order for the sake of curiosity. I ended up letting James choose the order instead.

Prices start at Php 70 to Php 90, which I find very affordable.

Old West Cowboy Experience at Garden Cafe

One of the restaurants I would love to visit in Tagbilaran City is Garden Cafe because of it's uniqueness. My first and last visit was when I was still in grade school, my cousin in law brought me there and I couldn't forget the experience. Reason? Because they have mute and deaf waitresses and crews which made the place the most silent restaurant I had been to ever.

Glad James and I came to the restaurant accidentally last week before we went back to Cebu. It was nine in the evening, while we were roaming around Tagbilaran City, we accidentally passed along the said resto. I hopped in happiness because I had been longing to get there. Though our ship's departure time was at 10pm, we still went in and ordered our meals. Unfortunately, we were not able to take photographs of our orders which we just took out because we were running out of time already and the camera had ran out of battery also, BOOO! BTW, I ordered Aloha Burger, it has beef patty with pineapple for Php 65, really good! James had his B roasted Chicken Meal for Php 110 and a Mango Pie for Php 35.

And while our order was taken cared of, we took advantage of the very little time taking photographs of the place. Garden Cafe is an old west cowboy restaurant and museum at the same time so most of the decorations are about cowboys and vintage stuff.

How Hard is it to Give?

It's 67 days before Christmas and because it has been known as the season for giving, children are seen asking for money after singing Christmas carols in the streets or inside jeepneys. Actually, they are already present as early as September, Filipinos has the longest Christmas season in the world. In the cities like Cebu city, this has been a trend and has been a headache for most commuters.

Some would give but majority of the passengers will just ignore them. This is because there teenagers who are taking advantage of this act. Eversince before, each single time that I would give a peso or two to these street children, somebody from among the passangers would negatively react.

Earlier today, I went to the office for some urgent matter. When the PUV stopped  at the red light, a half naked skinny boy about seven or eight years of age, came over and sung a tagalog christmas song. I was just near the entrance of the vehicle so it was easy for me to give a peso. Just as soon as the boy disappeared, a woman of her thirties sarcastically commented about the act.

She said, "Dili dapat hatagan ng mga in ana nga bata kay ila ra na isugal." (We should not give to those children because they will just use the money for gambling.)

Review: Startech Repair Shop

My laptop's LCD is currently having some issues, for some unknown reasons, it's just totally black. I can remotely access it which proves that it is still perfectly working however, the screen isn't promising. The problem started last week when I noticed that the screen's color was light red when I turned it on from a sleep mode. At first, I just disregarded it since it cleared out after a while. Then I noticed it starts flickering. I turned it off, thinking that the tablet T2100 (my laptop model name) may be undergoing some stress. When I turned it back on after a couple of hours, the same problem persists. I started panicking, I started thinking this might be the end of it's life after rendering her service for three years. Then the worse thing came up, it stopped working. It doesn't have any signs of a picture of anything on the screen. Good thing I was able to install the logmein app on it. It's a free app which can let you remotely access your pc. I will talk about it on the next post.

There were two things I had in mind, either to purchase a separate LED monitor or to have it fixed which may end up replacing her screen. But it took me four days to finally bring it to a technician because of the fact that I was also busy and I am still canvassing for a cheaper repair fee. My brother's laptop has an issue too so I brought it along with me.

I ended up going to Emall (Elizabeth Mall) in Sanciangko street. I went to this small corner where a lot of laptops and monitors are located. I learned that their group is called Startech.

Buko King Makes Bohol Proud

Just when we thought singing and dancing are the only talents Filipinos are well-known of, then wait until you finish watching this video below.

Done?

See what I am talking about? The truth is, there are two things that I am proud of base on the video above. First is of course, I am proud with our Kababayan who had gone to Germany because of his peculiar talent. Felipe Tacogdoy, fondly called by the villagers as "Pepeng" or "Nong Pepeng" for those who are younger than him is a pure Boholano and earns a living as a Buko opener.

Farewell Steve!

(February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011)

Who would have thought the day after the  'Lets Talk iPhone' event could be Steve Jobs' final day?

Nobody had thought of it, though every one knows he is very ill, he had a very serious health issues. He had gone to soon that no one had expected it to happen immediately. He had resigned from his company, Apple a few weeks ago and publicly announced about his illness. Now, he has just left his family and his company as well as all of those Apple fans.

Free Scrapbooks Update

Oh yeah!

After more than a year, I was able to change my freescrapbooks blog's background and header images. If you haven't been to that blog yet, then please do it now because the blog gives you free stuff like clip arts, scrapbook sets and photo templates. All of the things that I post there is free, out of charge and I give them away without any copyrights. Yes, you read it right, all for free. Hmm, let me give you a background about that site then. It goes like this, I am an art lover, I used to do the traditional scrapbook since grade school. I have collections of those old ones way back at home in Bohol but never really had let others see them because they are like crap and maybe others will never find interest on those so they were more of like private viewing, for my eyes only! Teehee.

So when I reach college, I started learning about Adobe Photoshop because it was a requirement as an IT student. BTW, I studied college in Cebu Institute of Technology, known as CIT-University today. I graduated last 2009, that's two years ago. So to make the long story short, I had switch from the traditional scrapbooking to the digital one, well my works aren't that good though but I thought it would be nice to place it somewhere in the web since its intangible and I can share it to the others who would get interested with it too. And the rest is history, it's a year old and here I am trying to innovate it, I don't think that's a great term but just be it.

How I Converted My Old Facebook Profile to the New Facebook Timeline

Lately, Facebook has made some changes on how news feeds show and how the photos posted are also viewed. Hundreds if not thousands of users didn't like it, in fact they searched for a way to bring back the old layout. But today, numbers of users are going "gaga" with Facebook's new Timeline profile and I would admit, I had been hooked with it as well. It's funny how updates like this happen and users can't wait until the release date. The truth is, the Timeline profile is still on it's beta stage and only developers can convert their profiles to this new one. However, we would always find for tricks on how to get this awesome changes on our own profiles too.

I said on my previous post that I will share to you how I convert my own profile to this timeline thing, so today please enjoy the step by step instructions plus photos on how you could get the timeline profile on your own accounts too! Here's how I did it:

Why I love Damon Salvatore

Last week's been an ordinary week and it feels like this week would become the same except that I had been busy watching YouTube videos about Damon and Elena of the Vampire Diaries. I am totally hooked with the series since season one. Have you seen the second episode for the third season already? If you haven't watched it yet, better start getting a copy now, you might regret not getting one because the third season has a lot of Delena moments. In fact, the first episode opened up with Elena seeing Damon totally naked, uhmm... well, he was actually wearing soap bubbles that time. Oppsy! I even published Elena's expression in my Tumblr account. Check it out:

Another Jadestar Experience

What's so nice about my trip back to my homeland today was that I only had to spend a hundred bucks for the ship fare on my way to Tubigon from cebu and 90 bucks to Tagbilaran. I met mom at the city and she paid for my fare going to guindulman. I had an instant 50% discount for my fare. Jadestar Shipping had a php 100 promo today and I found myself lucky for this.

Here are some of the photos I have taken during my land travel from Tubigon to Tagbilaran City.
