DOST Haven't Forgotten Yet
This post goes to all the 2009 DOST scholar graduates and to the DOST office who haven't forgotten us, the scholars though it has been two long years since the graduation date. I guess the Philippines' DOST office believes in the saying "Better late than never." Yeah, I might just say, at least they had given it even though it is way too late now but hey! Isn't it their obligation to provide those stipends at the right time?
I can still recall when I was studying my bachelor's degree in Information Technology at Cebu Institute of Technology known now as CIT-University, the stipends for our DOST scholarships had never been early nor on time. It was always a month late, even the tuition fees. We would always wonder why it has never been early. We never had the courage to ask or question them why or even file a complaint about it because we were just merely scholars.
The Man of Perfect Angles
You can't find any angle where he isn't beautiful, I wonder why he is so appealing. From Boys Over Flowers to Personal Taste up to City Hunter, Lee Min Ho has been so pretty. I never found a scene where he isn't. How could a man have such a pretty face? He looks like his mom though and I can't help grab his photos from his official website, leeminho.kr.
I am a fan and who cares if I make a slideshow of his photos then?
Wimax Gets Back With A New Face
For months, I have been unsatisfied with Globe Wimax' connection, downloading of even a single movie takes two or more days which is worse than my Smartbro connection. I was just being patient about it until the other day, June 21, 2011 when I woke up at five in the afternoon and the modem was not emitting light on the LED signals. I had experienced getting a blinking signal light before but that was different, even a signal blink was not showing at all. I tried troubleshooting it; power cycle didn't help, unplug and plugging the cables back but still no avail. I just went back to sleep hopeful that the connection would come back later the day. But when I woke up at ten in the evening, there was still no sign of any light from the LED. I was starting to be impatient. I said to myself to wait for 24 hours although I am already thinking that the problem is definitely about the modem! My router's no use at all at this point in time as well. So I went to work and when I came back home, there was still no progress!

Thanks to my new team, the spx (specialist) for the island hopping experience. The iCruise was an incentive given by our company HR because the team earned the most number of referrals last few months of recruitment. I shouldn't be joining this special treat because I just came into the team a few weeks ago but the team was very accommodating and generous to add me on the list. We were 30 in all and the HR said the boat can accommodate 30 heads, that was very good news.

Though I am not anymore part of the Team Papa Joe, I am glad I was invited for the team lunch which happened yesterday and took place at Casa Verde in Ayala Terraces. We had a great time and laughed alot, as in a lot! Unlike before, everyone was present yesterday. We got a prize from making to the top team for our account's overall stack ranking for the month of April. And as a celebration to that, we held this team lunch. Actually,we thought of eating at Banana Leaf but for some reasons, we ended up eating at Casa Verde which we didn't regret anyway.
Our "chikas" and laughter was interrupted when we learned that Loreto had already submitted his resignation. Without us knowing, his last night shift was last Sunday and though it maybe a sad thing that we will not be having him anymore in the future team lunch or any meal, we are happy because he is now moving into his greener pasture. He is actually going abroad but will be staying in the country first for his short term studies. Well, farewell and congrats Loreto! One good vibe was that he never let that event pass by, he made it to our team lunch without being late! Lol
Anyway, Casa Verde's specialty is the Baby Back Ribs also known as Brian's Baby Back Ribs. The serving was too much for me, if you are just an average eater like me, most women do, the serving is too much for sure. I was not able to finish it up but decided not to take it out then, most of my colleagues went out with the packed lunch. Now it is not just yummy and tender! It is also affordable, you can share it also if you want for Php 198.

Disclaimer: For Smart and Talk 'n Text pre paid users only!
Have you ever been to a situation where you don't have any more minutes left? I had this type of situation a lot of times actually because I am this person now who would only buy load minutes if it is really necessary, and I am not a postpaid user, so good luck to me. Way back in highschool and college years, I would not live a day without buying minutes for my phone so I can register to unlimited sms services. But this attitude has been changed since James came into my life. He had influenced me and since then texting is never an "IN" thing in my life. The following scenario is common to me:
Bohol's Success Story: Preserve Marine Environment

In light with the conservation of our coral reefs from my previous post, I want to share this article. Guindulman is my home town and I am proud of how our local government unit had established this so to save our marine environment there.
Article from philippines.usaid.gov:
The Bohol Sea, with 2,810 hectares of mangroves, 132 square kilometers of coral reefs rich in marine life, and eight species of cetaceans is considered one of the most important fishery and biodiversity sites in the Philippines. It is also a priority area for the conservation of mangroves, cetaceans, corals, and whale sharks; all important components of the local economy. Livelihoods from fisheries and coastal tourism depend on the richness of the Bohol Sea.
Everybody Loves The Sea But...
I am posting this for the sake of our future generation, for our children and the children of our children. Yes, everybody loves the sea or the beach for an instance, I love the beach, I grew up with the sea and I know you love it too! Whenever there are birthday celebrations, events, holidays or even if it is just an ordinary day, every one loves to go to beach to chill out, to get our "kayumanggi" skins tanned or at least enjoy that day. However, not everybody cares for it. Not everyone gives an amount of kindness to what's behind that cool white beach in the provinces. And the worst, not everyone gives a single importance to the creatures living underneath the magnificent waters.
Though our marine environment had given us all the great things we can acquire, not everyone is thankful of it. Not all of us is appreciative enough to value what's left for our next generation. Our country's seabed which was once full of marine resources had been taken advantage of this foreigners in tandem with our own "kababayans", a painful revelation. They are harvesting and peddling the homes of our sea creatures most specially, the fishes. Poor little thing, we can't let this happen and we can't just sit here and watch them take those jewels out from our ocean just as how these following photos show:
