Free Scrapbooks Update

Oh yeah!

After more than a year, I was able to change my freescrapbooks blog's background and header images. If you haven't been to that blog yet, then please do it now because the blog gives you free stuff like clip arts, scrapbook sets and photo templates. All of the things that I post there is free, out of charge and I give them away without any copyrights. Yes, you read it right, all for free. Hmm, let me give you a background about that site then. It goes like this, I am an art lover, I used to do the traditional scrapbook since grade school. I have collections of those old ones way back at home in Bohol but never really had let others see them because they are like crap and maybe others will never find interest on those so they were more of like private viewing, for my eyes only! Teehee.

So when I reach college, I started learning about Adobe Photoshop because it was a requirement as an IT student. BTW, I studied college in Cebu Institute of Technology, known as CIT-University today. I graduated last 2009, that's two years ago. So to make the long story short, I had switch from the traditional scrapbooking to the digital one, well my works aren't that good though but I thought it would be nice to place it somewhere in the web since its intangible and I can share it to the others who would get interested with it too. And the rest is history, it's a year old and here I am trying to innovate it, I don't think that's a great term but just be it.

Hey Yah Sleepless Head!

I haven't slept yet, I have been awake for more than 24 hours. I just had a busy day today, I worked from 12 dawn to nine in the morning. And oh! I just started working as a specialist agent, dah dah! Level up from L1 to specialist. Our subject matter experts say there is just a slim difference between L1's and Spx's and that would be the Php 1500 added salary every month for the latter. When I was asked to join the team, I was in doubt. I felt afraid to be a part of a team being looked up to because they follow through our super brain draining calls, irate customers and so much is expected if you say you are from the escalation team. But I ended up joining it because two of my wave mates were also added and that means reunion to us. A team mate was also part of the escalation but of a different team manager. So, going back I only had five calls today and I am glad I was able to receive an issue which I badly needed for me to learn from it. And I had learned the lessons I need. It took almost two hours for us to resolve the case but then, I was not after the resolution but the experience and lesson with the specific case. Well, I have missed some steps there but already reminded myself about it, hopefully I won't be missing the same things in my future call. After my first day, I must say it's difficult to switch scripts if you won't practice. That was my top learned lesson!

After work, I reached home at ten. I was planning to sleep right away but the pc was too inviting. So I facebooked, I blogged about the Food/Drink Menu I designed. Until my older brother came and asked me to run an errand for him. He was about to go back to UAE today and his flight would be a eight in the evening. He will reach Hongkong at ten and will wait for 18 hours for his flight to UAE and with that, he need to have dollars in case he need to buy something at the Hongkong airport.

I didn't know where to buy dollars then, I asked a couple of friends but they don't know as well. Now here comes Facebook's role. I just posted on my wall about it and my English instructor replied! It was the best answer since the changer she was referring to is just in Elizabeth Mall.

Though I didn't had sleep yet, I took a shower and hurriedly went to Emall. My brother said he need to go to the Mactan airport at four in the afternoon so I need to double my time. I went straight forward to the forex that my former English instructor told me and found this:

Wondershare's Free Photo Collage

Oh how I love Wondershare! Last time, I was able to get a free Flash Gallery Factory when it was featured in Cebu TechBlogger's site in 2010. Every now and then Wondershare gives out free software and I am like a whatever dying to get another free one. Last time they had this tagging game in Facebook and in which they were giving out a couple of free software, one of them was the Photo Collage. It was frustrating because I can't tag myself in the photo given so I commented out, later that day they deleted the tagging album and created another for the game. I was still persistent and joined it but up until now I haven't gotten one free software yet. Then one time on Facebook, I found this Giveaway of the Day thing Wondershare had shared on their wall page. I checked it out and good thing, they were actually giving out the Photo Collage software for free!

What would you expect me to do? Of course, I immediately clicked on the download link and proceed with getting the key code on their manufacturing website.

Wish I may, wish I might

I have wanted to do stuffs but had been very busy to take time and do those. Sometimes when boredom comes, I tend to start doing it but I usually end up unfinished or most of the time, I get tired before I could start at all. Lol. But I just wished I know how to discipline myself, grr. So now, I want to make this as a goal or a reaching star so that feeling of doing it becomes refreshing and inspiring to me.

First in the list, I wish to learn and get used to using the pen tool in Photoshop. I have been using photoshop for my Digital Scrapbooks like the Sticker Set but see how those vector images look like? How I wish I can create one, maybe two or let's make it three. Ughh. I haven't even created even a single leaf image. I usually read online tutorials about it but I usually stop in the middle of the lesson because I get tired. I get discouraged of how tough it is for me and how easy it is for them to make them. I am looking for that one trick or technique how they were able to use it with grace but with my end, it seemed like hell. Maybe there is no trick at all, just practice which I lack of.

Hopefully I can create an object out of the pen tool at the end of the month. Or at least able to create a path and then make it as a custom shape, any of them will satisfy me. I'll just make the first one my goal, since I believe in the saying "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars", isn't it inspiring?

Secondly, I wish I can start with my emergency fund, yes, EMERGENCY FUND. I certainly need it; well at least everyone needs it. I have been working for a year and two months but I still have zero emergency fund balance. Every month, or shall I say every pay day, first thing that comes up on my mind is the EF thingy but after a day, I have an amount left on my savings account just enough for my consumption only, that means, I need to budget that certain amount so I can survive until the next payday, *sigh. That usually is the trend.

So this time, I wish I can be possessed of a thrifty soul or somebody who spends less. Either of the two will be welcome, just kidding here. But I just wish I could be as thrifty, just like how others do.

Third, wish I could go back to college. Not literally but I wish I could have been more serious about my studies before. Just these past few days when I was modifying and editing my blog lay out, I had a lot of problems with the template and it can only be corrected with some CSS codes. Oh yeah CSS, as in cascading style sheets and only some can do that, well there are many actually since we are on the web generation now, at least people who are into web programming just like my boyfriend can relate to it. Unfortunately, I never learned how to code them, I know some, yes but that was HTML, oh sorry, HTML is super elementary. An IT can’t graduate without learning HTML, right? You guys should agree with me. But css coding and other javascripts were not discussed when I was in our lecture rooms or laboratories. Oh sorry, I guess our CIT faculty had opened it up but maybe I was sleeping or busy surfing that time, my bad though and that is the main reason why I wish I could go back to that time.

But, time is still young, I am still young so I wish to learn those and cope up with the missed stuffs. Good thing I have James who is already a Senior Web Programmer now, Kodus and congratulations for the promotion. Every time I have problems with my site, he can always solve it with just a couple of tracing and copy and pasting, urgh! Wishful I could do that my own.

Wew, I guess this will be my last wish for today's post, hehe. I wish to minimize signing in to Facebook. Ahem, this might be tough though but I am already violating my company’s rules because of this addiction. Noticed the red box on the top left hand corner of the photo. Even if I already know that our client is monitoring us via remote desktop connection, I still can’t help it and still open up my browser and starts signing in. My mind just can’t stop thinking about fb. Though we have a mobile device that can open up facebook, I don’t like it. I like to view it on an actual monitor, a big visual screen and not a 3 inch mobile screen and which also updates the status late, *urgh. If I won’t stop this, I won’t be surprised if I would receive an incident report or worst-case scenario, a Show Cause Memo. Ouch! I don’t want that to happen.

So there yah go Jean, do your best to make up to all of these wishes. Good luck and God bless!

P.S.

These are all wishes after all.
They may or may not come true but hopes for the latter one. :)

My First Sticker Set

Hi there, do you like the above picture? You can design a page like that as well with the help of my sticker set, my very first sticker collection. I had made sticker-flowers, memos, bookmarks, clippings ang a lot more. I had created this last weekend, I was kinda inspired that time though, haha.

If you are wondering what was the event on the picture, I am generous enough to tell where was that taken. The photos are already three weeks old actually. It was taken at Sugbu, SRP Cebu during the Sykes Party 2010 entitled "Together Sykes". That day, my company had launched it's new branding which is "Support in more ways than one." This was my first time actually since last year, I was still new there and that I don't have someone to go with. Now, my colleagues had decided to go also so did I. In the first photo, starting from the left is Daryl Gapor, Jon Cito Morales,  Voltaire Songcuya, Michelle Sabio and yours truly. The next photo, I had with me our team lead, Michelle Sabio. Thanks to TL Marvin for the pictures!

I created this page for only 10 minutes so I know you can also create something like this or more attractive than this. I used a dark background here so the items on the page will be highlighted. I also used some bookmarks and the picture backgrounds are the memos. You can also add some texts just like how I added a tag about the event and where it was held.

If this is your first time to create a digital scrapbook also, I suggest you use Adobe Photoshop. I am not familiar with other tools though but I love Photoshop, I guess it is the most popular photo editing tool I have ever known. Well, that is only my opinion anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

Well, moving on, if you would like to have the zip file of my first sticker collection, feel free to click the link here just don't forget to leave a message below, I would really appreciate that. Thanks guys...kisses***

Turning Back to My First Love - Scrapbooking

It is almost 2:00 in the afternoon but I can't sleep still. I don't know why after having a short chitchat with my older brother, I don’t feel like sleeping anymore and so to make use of the time, I have decided to post something here on my blog. Yehey!!! It’s been awhile since the last time that I have published my last post here. I was kinda busy for the past few days. I was busy with work and we went to the province with the corresponding weekends so there was never a chance.

Anyways, I am quite excited about my post today, why? Because it is about my first love, yes! Hehe, my first love was scrapbooking actually. Way back in secondary years, I love to create small scrapbooks which contained pictures of people I love. Some of those were already missing, I can’t seem to find them anymore but good thing I still have my college scrapbooks with me.

There are a lot of reasons why I just can’t help making scrapbooks. First, it is like a stress-reliever for me, once I start to cut those colored papers, I forget all problems and I am refreshed every time I do it. Second, it is a time-passer, meaning, I feel like forgetting the time. I would be pretty much focused on it that I would tend to forget it is already midnight (I usually do scrapbooking at night.) Third, it is a remembrance for me; the most important thing about scrapbooking is that it keeps memories, which are the only things that never change. I love to scan through those scrapbooks when I feel alone, when I have problems, it is like a reliever, and it brings me back to those happy times.

Since I am now working, I don’t usually do manual scrapbooking anymore. What I am enjoying now is the digital scrapbook. The idea is the same; the only thing that has changed is the materials. Before, I used colored papers, scissors, glues and etc., now I only have the computer and Adobe Photoshop and I am good to go, and don’t forget the internet, where every resources come from.

The good thing about having an internet connection is because you got all you need. In my case, I don’t create those flowers or those designs from scratch; I usually searches for nice designs and put them all together, pretty resourceful eh? It is much easier and the result is good. Let me show you some of my creations...
