I'm Going Organic!

Hair fall: this is my major major problem. If I am to gather every strand of hair that falls from my head, I bet those that had fallen off are greater in number compared to those strands that are still on my head right now. Scary but it is actually true, when I go to shower and brush my hair, it felt like a third of my hair had fallen and another when I brush in my room. I can see strands over the floor which makes me more frustrated about my hair. It is just not that obvious because when my hair dries, it looks so thick, mainly 'coz they are wavy and kinky.

Over time, I had been searching for a product which my hair will really love and which may lessen if not eliminate this problem. I had used a lot of hair products from the pink ones, the violet colored and a lot more but those didn't really resolve the issue. Everyday, I would worry about my hair, I had become so pathetic and I felt like sick.

So I came to this blog by MyMaria and found out about Human Heart Nature which sells organic products. I was like interested since organic means chemically free, I just thought that the chemicals present in the shampoos I used maybe were not minimizing the hair fall instead are making it worse. So I went to looked for reviews over the net, I came up to Kumiko Mae's blog as well as Elise's, she's a writer at My Special Valentine, a known novel here in the Philippines. Both had a very good review about the products specially on the hair products.

So what I did? I contacted Human Nature's Cebu City branch manager via email, Mary Grace M. Nacar set us an appointment for their product orientation. James and I went there last Saturday, their office is in Galleria Fuente just behind Robinson's Main.

At two in the afternoon, Miss Nelia the only person inside entertained us and eventually conducted the orientation. James and I learned a lot of things about the company like it was started and founded by the Meloto sisters, they are quite famous because of their father Tony Meloto, the founder of Gawad Kalinga Inc. The company was realized with the help of the elder sister Anna's husband Dylan Wilk who was a multimillionaire from England. The couple were environment conscious and that was the starting point of creating and developing organic products.

The very good side of the company is it's advocacy, it is focused to be 100% Pro-Philippines, 100%Pro-Poor and 100%Pro-Environment. Let's have this things cut to pieces. First, Pro-Philippines because it is produced here in Pinas and as much as possible they want the raw materials to be from the Philippines which make the products affordable. Right now, they would only import if there is no local availability but they had also set standards with those imported stuff. As per their website:
As your guarantee of the integrity of our products, you will start seeing a new natural seal on our labels. To qualify for the seal:
  1. The ingredients must be biodegradable and at least 95% natural (the same standard set by the Natural Products Association in the USA). Many of our products are in fact 100% natural.
  2.  The ingredient must come from a renewable resource with no petroleum compounds and be processed in a way which is not damaging to the environment.
  3. A "non-natural" ingredient is only permitted if there is no readily available natural alternative and the ingredient meets strict criteria regarding human and environmental safety and biodegradability.

Pro-Poor, they are set to help the farmers in many provinces here in the country. As a matter of fact, last year all Citronella Bug Spray's sales were given to the farmers of Camarines Norte to help their situations in the province. Gandang Kalikasan Inc., the company's name had communicated with some other foundations to help our farmers lift their own livelihood through farming projects.

Pro-Environment, of course  because Gandang Kalikasan Inc.'s products are chemical-free, in short they are not harmful to the human body and the community, to nature and to mankind.

Those advocacy made me love the product even if I haven't used them yet. I decided to register the same day. No more questions. In getting registered as a dealer, I opted for the Php499 kit which includes some catalogs, fliers and products equivalent to Php 543, that only is already a return of my investment plus I will be enjoying chemically-free products.

my application forms.

some products included in the kit are out of stock so I need to get back to the office and claim them.
some of the products included on the kit.
some catalogs and fliers. The catalogs were still for Jan-Feb, they release catalogs every two months.

human heart nature's bulletin board, all the news and updates can be found here but I would rather not read them, I'll stick with their website instead. :)
so lots of organic!
oh I swear, I fell in love with the scent of this mango body butter. It's colored white but the scent is really ripe mangoes, I felt like eating them! Yummy!
One more advocacy or shall I say program that they are trying to push right now is the re-cycling or re-filling programs for the used bottles. Human Nature is using PET (recycle code 1) bottles for most of the products. PET is a recyclable and high value plastic which can be reused by simply rinsing them. They are like the bottles used in soft drinks or sodas.

Here is one good view outside the office:

what are these?

already! This is where all the empty bottles go... yohoo!
there you go!

It felt real good that I am pushing on to Filipino-made products in this simple way, I am sharing my help for the country's economy and environment as well.

Make your share too! Let's go organic lads and gens!
