Yesterday morning at 8:00 sharp, I received a short message from Union Bank Fuente branch, the message goes like this:
Hi Jean this UnionBank fuente branch. Wud like to inform u that ur eon card isnow ready for pk up. Thank u & have a nice day!
After 2 months, a couple of phone calls, four time personal visit and a blog post: 5th bullet on Things I hate about July, the ATM card is now available. I wonder why they sent me a text message instead of letting me call in and check for its status, maybe because they thought I have been into a not-so-good experience with their process. Imagine, the supposed to be two weeks wait for the EON card lasted for two months and 2 weeks. Phone call attempts using a land line has never been successful so I used my cellular phone to call them which is much more expensive than a Php 5 land line phone call.
Since I was tired yesterday, I decided to just procrastinate and go there the next day. So after my shift today, I directly went to the branch office. I arrived there at 10:15 and approached the front desk teller, she then recognized me and apologized for the delay. I just smiled(*maldita effect) and she processed the files. I signed the log records and the Release and Activation form. I proceeded to the accounting area to pay for the annual fee worth Php 350.00. The front desk teller then gave me my EON card and gave reminders such as to use the temporary password first and that I can only change the password after a successful withdrawal. She even explained to me that the bottom number is the account number which should be used when depositing to the account and the upper series of digits is the card number used for online transactions. I thanked the teller for it and got out of the office at 10:30. So that was real fast.
I was kinda hungry so I went straight to Jollibee Robinsons, on my way there, I came across a man who looks like a foreigner, two guys at the back are running after him and who are offering him a pair of glasses and were speaking in English. The foreigner guy shoke his head as a sign of refusal but the two seemed not understanding him, the guy then spoke and to I was surprised, he's speaking Bisaya pretty fluent. He told them: "Mahal ra kaayu ang Php 250, kahibawo ko fake na!" The two guys then stopped insisting and turned their way back. Hahaha.
I treated myself and ate my favorite Jolly spaghetti at Jollibee and went home after.
Super excited to change my paypal's bank account, I rushed to the cafe, (*Yes, I haven't subscribed to any internet provider yet so I usually go to cafes) and changed my bank account. I searched for the bank code because I have forgotten to ask the teller for the information. Thanks to the web, I will not anymore go back or call them to get that info, I just googled it and found it!

Hmmm... I guess there will still be a continuation about this post until I get a reply from paypal. To Unionbank-Fuente Branch: thank you!!!
I already had few funds on my Paypal account that is why I wasn't that excited to withdraw. I asked few bloggers on how to verify my account with my EON. They just told me to initially deposit few hundreds (at least 200).
I enrolled and tada! it was confirmed, verified and ready to use. The $1.95 will be returned after. I was just waiting for my funds to reach $180 for me to withdraw the Philippine money at least Php7,000 (no withdrawal fee for this amount).
Lesson for this, don't be too excited to withdraw from your Paypal unless it is already verified with your EON. Hehehe!
