The Game Called Planking

photo from cebu plankers
A new game is becoming famous now a days, you might have seen some guys or even girls out there lying face down with the hands touching the sides of the body then one of their friends will take their photographs and post it in the internet, if you had, then you have already seen an actual enactment of the game called planking. I personally have seen their fan page and their photos are all published there. You will be surprised with how these guys, mostly are college students had made effort in planking anywhere, in the streets, in  schools, in the malls and anywhere which may look unique. Check some of those photos here:

Pera Na, Binitin Pa!

I feel disappointed today, I am tired and exhausted because of the graduation allowance that I just claimed today from the Department of Science and Technology. I requested the "cheque" for the late graduation allowance last June 29, 2011 by calling the DOST office. I even posted about it and was happy knowing that though late, they had given it anyway. However, I never thought I would go through this hassle with converting it to cash. The story goes like this:

I got out off work today at ten in the morning, James and I agreed to claim the allowance so we met to Sudlon, Lahug and walked together to the DOST office. FYI, DOST office has been transferred from Banilad to Lahug. From the intersection, it took us ten minutes to reach the building. We were enjoying the walk since the place was windy and most of the government offices were located there. The place looked like a village of government establishments. The DepEd, DILG, Department of Finance and etc. were there. The DOST office was at the end of the village, just beside the Ecotech building. We were quiet amazed because compared to the previous office, this one right here looks way better.

I'm A Day Dreamer

Basically daydreamer because those dreams I have at night are like short term memories. Once I open my eyes, they seem to pop like bubbles. They seem like brain synapses collapsing right there and then once reality bites in. That's why, I love to daydream because I consider those as the living ones. The dreams I dream to pursue and dreams I have the urge to realize one day.

When I'm in the laundry, in the sink washing the dishes, even when I'm riding a PUJ or even watching the hours pass away, these are the things I clearly see and "hopely" be able to see in the near future.

A Date At Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House

Yesterday was a tiring yet amazing day, James and I celebrated the 35th month of our relationship and it was a lovely day to go out and spend the day with each other. We first thought of going to Taoist Temple in Lahug, I was still four I guess when I visited that place together with my family and the picture of the place is vague now. James has been there when he was still in secondary school so yeah, we planned to get there that day. Unfortunately, we have no hold of what the weather would be and surprise! It rained again, bummer! But my prayers were still granted because it was just a light rain compared to the other day's. So while James, I and her sister (yeah, he brought a chaperon, hehehe) were having lunch at Jollibee-P. Del Rosario branch, we decided to cancel out the Taoist Temple and just look for something else near our spot.

The rain stopped before we finish eating but the sky was still dark and sad so we just went our way to this museum featured in one of those local TV shows we watch. We actually have no idea on its name, all we know is that it is near the National Heritage. So, from P. Del Rosario we walk towards San Carlos University and rode a Jeep route 01B to Parian. On National Heritage's left we found the museum itself!

I would never let this giveaway pass without joining it because Domestic Cherry is giving away an Agfaphoto Digital camera PRECISA 1430 and a Beabi Gadget Bag. What do you think about that then? I hope lady luck will be on my side this time. I had joined a couple of her giveaways before and I was just unlucky.

A Date At Crocolandia

It was a great Sunday, James and I had a wonderful time at Crocolandia, enjoying the nature and the awesomeness of the wild life inside the place. It was a breather going there, staying away from the buildings and polluted city while breathing in some fresh air was so good! We were super lucky because we witnessed Lapu-lapu ate his dinner

Crocolandia BTW is located in Biasong, Talisay, it is a 45 minute ride away from Cebu City. From Cebu, we rode a jeepney (Php 8.00 per head) to Talisay market where we took a tricycle (Php 50 special trip) to Crocolandia. Entrance fee was Php 80.00 per adult and Php 40.00 per children age 12 and below but if you come in groups in 25 and above, there's a 20% discount, see it would be better to go there in groups. Anyway, I was amazed when we entered there because it was windy inside, on my right was a big crocodile, I was thinking it was Lapu-lapu but no, it's not lapu-lapu. On my left was a mini park, there were number of children playing. Next to the playground is a canteen so you won't be worried if you haven't brought any food with you, the food inside is affordable. We actually were not able to bring our own so we ended eating there too. I had tuna sandwich for Php 25 and James had his Hotdog sandwich for Php 35. Aside from that, there's also a mini store for souvenirs.

Is That The New Friendster?

An earthquake had shaken up those early and the sleepless Visayan birds today around 4:47am. I am with the latter but I never felt any shake at all. It was amazing how I was deeply focused on the series I was watching, the City Hunter. I can't believe I was that insensitive. I just knew it when I read the fb status of my colleagues. Anyways, thank goodness it was just a minor shake, hope everyone else in the Visayas is doing good. Aw, this post is not for the earthquake but for friendster so here we go!

Welcome back fs! Friendster had come back with a new tag line: living the game. I never expected that they would really make it into a gaming kind of social networking site,. I am not into online gaming anymore, in fact the last online game I was addicted to was the Crazy Cart and the Farm Town via facebook. That was two years ago and I stopped playing because it just consumes my time, making me unproductive. I can't imagine how those games keep my eyes open for like six to eight hours so I decided to stop that craziness and never play any online game anymore, not even a single one.

Me On Google+!

The most talked about topic on the world wide web today is this new social networking site by google itself, none other than google plus[+]! I have been introduced to it by James and that in the top of my head, this one might be the facebook-killer so has facebook to friendster. Sadly, when I visited the site the first time, it was still on an invite only mode. It was until tonight that I was able to get an invite and eventually created my own account! Thanks to myMaria, she posted on her facebook page that her account is eligible for inviting friends.

PAG-IBIG: Check!

Three business days had passed and it's my time to return back to PAG-IBIG to claim the check for my first salary loan. In my mind, I was thinking what would I do with the money that I will be getting soon. I just dropped the thought of buying something since I guess I don't have to get any stuff right now, I will just save the money, char.com! Anyway, I went to PAG-IBIG building bringing with me my Acknowledgement Receipt, it has the application number written on the top right hand side of that paper, the lady from counter 16 advised me to keep it until the release date.

Tumblr Annoyance: realgiftbasket

I wonder if it is just me or Tumblr has been hacked or something. This experience has started a few weeks before which I had just ignored thinking that maybe it is Tumblr's own advertisement. Since I would recently post via Piclyf, I rarely open my Tumblr's dashboard then today, I felt like grabbing some cute photos from Tumblr. There isn't no other site which gives very pretty photos but Tumblr only, thanks to my buddies there.

PAG-IBIG Ang Sagot!

This has been former Vice President Noli De Castro's line when he was still promoting this government branch before. I was not aware about how this PAG-IBIG thing works but since I am working for more than 24 months now, I was forced to get to know more about it. My colleagues once asked me if I was able to apply for a PAG-IBIG salary loan since I have been contributing for two years already. From then, I learned that this government sector can lend an amount of money to all illegible employees and the nice thing is that you can also loan for your own house.

Globe Way-max Strike 2

Thought my internet problems have been fixed after globe had changed my modem, but it was the total opposite. Three days after the fix, another problem occurred. There was no more signal lights on the modem and so it means there was no internet connection at all. The problem started last Tuesday, June 28, 2011. I tried troubleshooting it, restart the router, power cycled but there was no avail. I waited again for 24 hours but no progress at all. I called Globe at the second day and told them about the situation. The rep named Jess assured me that they are monitoring my connection and said there was no problem with it as their system shows so they will just send their technicians to personal check the modems and the wires if necessary.
